hey!!!!! everyone else whom's names I cant read

morning! I'm doing some r/d (research/development) on trippy tips with my Scottsdale, AZ. peers...finally! now that the studio is done. My peer Josh Hamra is making some of his signature art glass for trippies and Raychel and I will be collaborating as well, small "beta" batches will come out of it at first.

Josh is making this art glass he calls " Hamra space glass"...it's super cool, pictures soon

Howdy Freddie!

I heat the wick red-hot, half of it, then dunk it in ice water .... it makes a nice "squeech" sound. LOL
I do each half, three time ... heat, squeech, heat, squeech, etc ... I dab it on a paper towel each time too or else it takes longer to heat it back up.
THEN I put it back on the paperclip and do the juice burn x3.
This is just the way I do it ... everyone has variations. :)

I'll try it your way today then. :D

Man I wish I was home right now! Can't wait to try again. I had to do it in short spurts yeterday because the I'm the baby's favorite  But today Daddy needs him some coiling..

*cough cough* I think...I'm...sick... Must go home.. make some wicks... Can't work anymore.. :D

Hey Freddy!!

And I think what you are talking about with the member names is that these sneaky tripsters have a setting enabled in their profile settings. It controls whether people can see your name viewing threads or not.

got it, good thing! I just feel like I don't have the best thread manners....really

just be advised, this! is the only forum/thread I have participated on, for close to a decade!...so, I hope nobody thinks I'm just being rude....or anything like that

I do like being here :D

Cyclin - my Dad is a metallurgist, and explained in WAY more detail than I ever wanted to know that heating it and quenching it moves the carbon atoms out of the matrix and into the something layer where they get sort of locked when you quench it. It's not a true "tempering" as we aren't heating it high enough, blah blah blah ....
He said once was enough, anything after that isn't making it better, but I like to do it 3 times. LOL
I am going down there again tomorrow, and will write down what he says ...

He is like View attachment 122939 and I am like

Meeee tooo, took over 8 years for it to "happen" in this residence. Raychel just never found someone that she could trust for the "build" We lack a lot of technical research and "data" on how to properly build studios. I've been doing it for years (building and research) so, it's an honor to be here doing it. Also, a lot of her peers will benefit from this "in home studio" design...win/win

Freddy - I have never read rudeness in your posts!

oh.....i know. Sometime I just feel like I pop into y'alls ongoing conversations with my "own" frame of thought...actually, I'm kinda known for doing that in person as well, finally getting old enough were "eccentric" is an appropriate label :D

Anytime an artist wants to say something, I try to listen. I like to hear the why with all Trippy artists, since I have no idea how...
Anyone with your ability has the right to be 'eccentric' , IMHO.

I'm not that good with the thread thing either. Sometimes I fit in and chat away, but most times I feel like a stranger in a place I know/knew so well~LOL. Never you mind Freddy-tripsters enjoy seeing you pop in and discuss what's going on with you and R&D!!!!!!!!!
