I hear ya kataan .... I am still with about 5 favs, but I sort of like my rut. LOL

Usually I'm good with it, I've found some good vendors and juices that I never seem to lose a taste for. I need to start doing DIY again, but I've been lazy. ;) I am dreaming of a light raspberry custard.

kataan, I am in Belfair .... 18 miles down Hwy3. LOL

DD went to K/1st grade in Central Kitsap right by the NavHosp while I was still active duty.

That's awesome. My Dad was Navy, so we actually lived out there twice, when I was really little we lived in Port Orchard, and then we moved back out there while I was in high school. But I've kind of lived everywhere. Now I panic if I live in the same place for more than a couple years, I get wanderlust. :)

Hubby and I moved around a lot, but we had DD later, so she was just our last 3 duty stations .... Chicago, Jacksonville NC, and then Bremerton. :)
We came here to retire when she was 4.

It's one of the most beautiful parts of the country in my opinion. You just can't beat being between two mountain ranges. I'd love to move back, but my folks are on the east coast now, and at least for now since my Dad is sick (ok, and because my mom is one of my best friends), I need to be near them. Maybe one day. :)

My parents being still here, down in Chehalis, is the only reason I came back. LOL
I am used to warmer weather now, and I am always cold up here.
I would love to move back to San Diego or NC .... Back to Italy would be ideal, but hubby says "H... NO!".

Haha, it's one of those grass is always greener things. I would happily trade you NC for WA. I am always too hot down here.

Bert or Freddy .... watching a PBS show on Dale Chihuly ("Chihuly in the Hot shop"), and they are making baskets, sea forms, etc ...
Anyway, when they finish something, they run over to some guy in a flame suit, he supports it, and they use some tong things where the pole meets to get it to come off.
Are those little tongs cold or something? You can hear some cracking sort of noises, and a couple things shattered.

Chihuly is sitting there drawing with a whole hand full of pencils crammed together, while bunches of guys are running around sweating like pigs ... LOL
(some William Morris guy is just drenched)

Coool! I actually just! ordered the blue ray version of this video, yesterday!

Haven't seen it yet, but I know the process enough to explain it a little bit. Yea, the thongs are generally not pre heated...but what I really think is that the glass that broke on them just lost too much thermal mass and cracked before they got it to the kiln. It's a huge! critical point when those guys are in that final step, and often the glass strains from thermal shock and breaks :( even the best of the best suffer this loss, I could only imagine what masterpieces ended up as cullet (glass scrap)

The Italian guy is most likely Pino Signoretto...not sure, but a really good guess :D

You know, little ribbon accents and such on such a small thing as a trippy tip are very! difficult to accomplish. The biggest concern is the structural strength of the glass. Little ribbons smaller or around 1/8" would be very fragile. Texture on a tip that's completely bonded onto the surface of the tip and flowing like a ribbon? Yea, that can happen.

:D
