Yayyyy, kcos!

Bert, are there any other new vendors getting Trippys so I can stalk them? If so, can you tell us who.

Pinkspot is getting some, COV, Hoosier, Mawn Drip Tips, vape Revolution, Vapor Kings, Dragonfly, and Ms. T's Bakery. e-liquid Planet just placed an order too.

Here are my 2 new tips I got love them both so much!!!!! i'll post a better picture later when I can use my camera :)

That single ring one is an oldie but goodie. Let me know if you want it updated with the 2 ring design!

big wildfires all around me. doing evacs in surrounding towns

Stay Safe! I hope you and your family and friends all avoid any disaster!

Sorry, but what is the website for the vapor king vendor that will be selling all those tips in the pictures Bert posted? I'm trying to hunt down a donut :D

Your best bet on a donut is going to be Clouds of Vapor. I will let you know when they ship out and post pictures via this thread!

Bert or Freddy .... watching a PBS show on Dale Chihuly ("Chihuly in the Hot Shop"), and they are making baskets, sea forms, etc ...
Anyway, when they finish something, they run over to some guy in a flame suit, he supports it, and they use some tong things where the pole meets to get it to come off.
Are those little tongs cold or something? You can hear some cracking sort of noises, and a couple things shattered.

Chihuly is sitting there drawing with a whole hand full of pencils crammed together, while bunches of guys are running around sweating like pigs ... LOL
(some William Morris guy is just drenched)

The Italian guy was probably Lino or Pino. I had a Chihuly DVD that showed them all 3 working together. Chihuly can't make the glass himself any more because he lost an eye in a motorcycle accident and has no depth perception. I love that he still works with other artists to make beautiful creations though!

Coool! I actually just! ordered the blue ray version of this video, yesterday!

Haven't seen it yet, but I know the process enough to explain it a little bit. Yea, the thongs are generally not pre heated...but what I really think is that the glass that broke on them just lost too much thermal mass and cracked before they got it to the kiln. It's a huge! critical point when those guys are in that final step, and often the glass strains from thermal shock and breaks :( even the best of the best suffer this loss, I could only imagine what masterpieces ended up as cullet (glass scrap)

The Italian guy is most likely Pino Signoretto...not sure, but a really good guess :D

You know, little ribbon accents and such on such a small thing as a trippy tip are very! difficult to accomplish. The biggest concern is the structural strength of the glass. Little ribbons smaller or around 1/8" would be very fragile. Texture on a tip that's completely bonded onto the surface of the tip and flowing like a ribbon? Yea, that can happen.

:D

Agreed, that can happen! Hi Freddy...have fun in the forest. I'll try checking if you get cell phone reception out there later ;)

Good Day TrippyTipsters :)

So far...so good! Sorry about the lack of pics last night. I was beat and went to bed early.

Morning Bert ....

I think it was Lino ... maybe not, it was hard to follow what they were doing and read the names that flashed at the bottom.
Chihuly said he couldn't blow glass anymore because of his eye, and also he dislocated a shoulder, so he was directing everyone and occasionally had some wood paddle things he would shape stuff with.

The big stuff that broke was a huge platter thing that the guy said had a thin base, and it broke taking it off the pole, then they made this HUGE round ball ("float") that they got off OK, but it wouldn't fit in the "oven" and the 2 guys in fire suits set it down on the ground. It just blew up .... I guess from the colder floor?
It was a really interesting special .... :)
