wondering if it is normal or if i have a problem.
i punched a new carto yesterday and notive i have liquid leaking into my mod, soaking my kick and battery and out the bottom after time. the carto works fine but did i punch too deep and puncture the tube inside? is this harmful?

thats not normal.....you need to try again

definitely not good for your electronics either. Could be you punched too deep or a bad carto

Generally when punching cartos I mess up quite frequently. I've since gone to just making small dimples in the carto and drilling it out on a press

Nice to know that when in pain and contemplating whether I should have this looked at or not, I can count on you to be concerned lmao.... But that was weeks back that I was using the dime thing and it was only temporary until the appropriate batteries arrived so it's completely unrelated....

Ok, ok. Can I kiss the fingers and make them better? ;0

She is referring to how I put dimes into a wooden VV mod because I bought batteries without nipples and they weren't making the connection so I put a couple dimes between the top post and the battery to make the connection while using it until the other batteries arrived lol.... however this was not a factor tonight and the battery in the indulgence was a protected 18650

Nickels? What did you do with nickels?

Mike, I would throw out that carto and start a new one. You don't want juice soaking the inside of your mod. It will cause a problem with the electronics.

carto tossed and new one punched and soaking. i will try to towel out my mod.
hope your finger is well odi

Hope you all had a great weekend!!!

I'm not going to be able to go to VK's. My daughter fell and broke one of her front teeth last night. There goes my Trippy Tip trip money :( Life happens!

Goodnight and have a wonderful Monday :D:D

Oh Noooooooooeeeeeeeesssssssss :( Hugs for daughter and mom too! Please reassure DD that the dentist will fix it right up and she'll be as precious as she was before :)

A visit from the tooth fairy wouldn't hurt either! :)

AS you know, your TrippyTips Godfather makes frequent visits around here - so no worries

Goodnight to you Fudgey :)

thanks.... In hindsight I should have just let it burn out at a safe distance instead of opening it but that battery burned through me like I was butter! If it have burned any deeper I would be seeing the bone in my finger beneath this half circle lol.

Also sorry for being grumpy it's just that I'm chicken pecking my board to type and I'm frustrated at how a 1 dollar faulty cartomizer took out a mod, battery and left two fingers severely burned *sighs*

My god I just burned the crap out of my fingers on a malfunctioning mod.... I took out a fresh cartomizer and filled it with juice then proceeded to put the cartomizer on my VV Slim Woodie and it wouldn't fire so I tried on my Lavatube and it wouldn't fire..... then I put it on my Indulgence and it wouldn't fire but I guess the malfunctioning cartomizer caused an issue with the Indulgence because instead of just not firing as with my VV units the 18650 got hot so fast that within a few seconds smoke was coming out and I reacted by quickly unscrewing the bottoms and the battery slipped out and the edge singed a half circle into one of my fingers and burned the side of my middle finger as well.... Now my indulgence won't do anything lol

Oh Odi! Thank goodness you were quick and sorry you burned your fingers. I wonder if that was a LR carto -- I've read you shouldn't use anything lower than 2ohm cartos/atties on vVs....

For your burn run cool water - take a pain reliever - no bandage - you need air to go around it for it to heal, dab some bacitracin on it and wrap gauze around your finger loosely...

That sounds kind of serious. Didnt realize it could get that hot. Take care of those fingers boo.

I'm apparently an idiot when it comes to batteries. I usually throw a couple spares into my purse when I go out. One night at the bar I noticed my purse was extremely warm. I assumed it was my stupid, useless cell phone, but when I checked my purse later one of my batteries had kind of melted. Apparently they are not supposed to be thrown in the bottom of your purse with a bunch of change. Who knew? Apparently everyone but me.

Oh the bright side, you weren't harmed and hopefully it did no more damage to your bag! Thanks for sharing! I've had a habit of tossing one battery into a separate pocket in my purse -- good argument for starting to use battery cases on a regular basis!

Hugs!

Sounds like you may have pierced to far Mike. I would check the tightness of your end caps too. :)
