Just got done helping DD with math .... OMG, the stuff they have!

"Guess and Check" word problems? Do you know how many off topic, left field guesses a 12 yr old can come up with? I mean come on ..... why have younger kids doing that?

Blu -- twelve really isn't too young for this. I personally don't think any age is too young to begin these types of problems as kids are applying learned skills and logic to predict and solve problems. We all do this all the time and this is an important skill, especially when doing any kind of new research. DD is going to have upcoming projects, hopefully some science based ones and this practice should help immeasurably.
