Uh ... wha???

That is once you heat your soldering iron, you heat some solder onto the tip of the iron before you try to solder item. That way you just basicly replace the solder onto the iron. Hmmmm, it can't explain this right but it's the best way to solder.

Following Matthew's instructions I'm currently using the 2mm silica wick the ERA came with in the buy. I wrapped a 6/7 coil around the shank of a 3/32 drill bit. Then pulled a doubled over piece of the 2mm wick though the center of a coil with a extra piece of the 32AWG wire. Here's what it looks like:

The vapor is decent and if I fire it without the top the smell is unbelieveable but the vaped flavor is muted like a carto...>Weird

That was the same problem I had. Let me know if drilling and more wraps works for you!

I'm suggesting less wraps. Less resistance. More flavor IMO.

Brew. Try a 4/5 wrap. Get a 1.5 ohm and drill out one if the holes a bit. No muted flavor.

Blu, here are my few quick tips on soldering

you can practice on paperclips or with spare bits of wire or metal it really does help you figure out what you're doing.

Make sure everything is clean, if it's something old or looks oxidized run some sandpaper over it

Once it's all lined up, after heating the pieces place the soldering iron point on one side of the joint and the solder on the other, let the heat from the iron pull the solder through/around the joint.

Actually he's recomending less wraps as I'm rocking 6 and he's saying to do 4 and drop it 1/2 an ohm. I was also aware of his other suggestion which is to open the single air hole to at least 3/64s if not 1/16s. I will try most of that tomorrow. I'll report back for sure. Brew

You must have gotten one of the foreign group-buy models as all of the US versions are single hole.

So do you loop prior to connecting the coil? I tried that but after a bit of fumbling, I gave up and just wrap it around as I put on the top.
