Star - a sleep over wilderness type camp I guess .... she wasn't real specific. LOL
In her elementary school, at the end of 5th grade, they all go camping for a week. I stupidly volunteered to be a "parent counselor" type thing, but Lane had fun. They slept in cabins, did the kayak, swim, archer thing, the whole schibang. Plus had classes about wilderness sustainability, oceanography, all that tree-hugging stuff Washington is so well known for.
Looked at a few web-stes and Lane put the kabosh on "girls only" camps, no kayaking or sailing and no mountain climbing, so I am not sure whats left. There is one on one of the San Juan Islands that is a French Camp ..... set in a French Village, and they learn to speak French and cook! Sounds cool to me. LOL
Horseback Riding camp? However, you could create a monster. Then again, young girls who fool with horses are busy, busy, and she might end up having a life-long love for horses and riding.
hi sun
so true, it's expensive but it will keep her busy![]()

I had a kind of similar experience.. I was in brownies when I was in my birth town, we did all sorts of fun stuff like camping and hiking, catching and identifying bugs, learning plant identification and uses, how to build fires. Typical scout stuff. When we moved to my "hometown" I was old enough for girl scouts. I dunno if it was just the scout master I ended up with or if it was that town in general but all we ever did was sit in an art room in a local elementary school and play with construction paper. Now I took summer school art classes and went to art camp and almost all my electives were art... but.. really? I wasn't in girl scouts for art, I wanted to do scouting stuff. I only lasted a year before I gave up in disgust. And my art classes at the time were on the order of calligraphy, pottery, kiln fired enameling, metalworking (soldering with torches, not just playing with beads and wire)... much more advanced stuff than construction paper and pipe cleaners.

Well Good Morning everyone! Sorry I have been absent the past couple of days, and will be again today (It's my ONE YEAR wedding anniversary!) but tomorrow I will have a BUNCH of new stuff to share with you. Have a wonderful day!!
