Yikes lol, I think I remember that..

I decided to do this 2 weeks ago. I bought what was rated a very good one, but when I got home and set it up, it was too limited. I went back first thing next morning and exchanged up to an iPad. I like that it can download from any internet book store, Kindle, iBooks etc...
Plus I can get most of my iphone apps on it without paying for them again. And it takes pics and lets me play on the internet with wifi. For $20/mo I got my iphone to work as a hotspot, so I didnt need to pay the extra hundreds for the net enabled version or contract that is needed.

Those storm pics I posted from my vacation were taken from the iPad, through a window.
When needed, I download pics to my laptop and start over. Its a lot more room than I expected. Now I'm looking for the geniuses to come up with way to all an external drive or memory card reader through the antenna hole. Someone has to have something that will work.

Oh don't get me wrong I like the iPad, I just can't spend the extra for the large 64gb or 32 gb versions, and would like something with a memory slot. I'm very comfortable with their iOS and work on them all the time.. But if I was going to go new I'd just get the new Nexus tablet and pump wifi through my phone.

I'm sorry you had to pay for that 20/month service, you already pay for your data plan and they don't give you any extra usage, and the hotspot signal is actually pumped through the iPhone wifi hardware. Basically they are charging you for something you already paid for It takes literally NOTHING from them for you to do that. If you had your phone jailbroken I could just set it up for you, where its free. Or if you had an Android device you can just download a free app that does it too...

But all in all if I were to recommend a tablet (like I did to my coworker) I usually will recommend the new iPad. Even my oma uses one My main hangup is price, if I had the money I'd get the 64gb, but then again if I had that money I'd just get the 32gb Nexus and a weekend in Vegas for the same price or maybe the new galaxy tablet coming out

It came out awesome and you are gonna have to get in line behind me!!!!!!!!!!!
