When his grandfather moved to Florida to be with my mother in law, my husband wanted to move us back to his grandfathers home in chandler. But I knew about the weather and I love my mountains so we didn't move:).

Lol! We have a saying here. "If you don't like the weather, wait five minutes." I've seen it be 80 degrees one day and 30 and snowing the next.

new 29 gallon (brand new) freshwater want to keep some easy plants in it none that need to much care just need a good substraight

also i'm going to do a fishless cycle on the tank but what's better to jump start it ammonia, rare shrimp or flake food
last tank i kept was huge but it's been a while and all the products are different and i swear i forgot everything
though i've never kept live plants before all my fish kept eating them so i gave up i'm going with much more peaceful fish this time lol non aggressive

eco- complete is a very good plant substrate. you will need decent lighting..usually not the light that comes with the tank..i like coralife lights.
if you dont have great lighting there are still other options for plants. java fern and narrow leaf java fern are easy to grow and dont root in substrate well but rather take a small piece of fishing line or rubber bad and attach the rysome to a piece of driftwood or rock and it will attach itself to that.... and fish hate the taste of fern. hornwart is a good fast growing floating plant...do NOT ever get any duckweed.

also... if you know someone that has a nice aquarium set up and running ask them if they can jump start your tank. you will take one or 2 of their dirty filter media and pllace in in your tank...that is your good bacteria and will geet you fixed up right away...you may add fish now, lol.
cardinal tetras and rummynose tetras are great as are ember tetras. a shyer cichlid that wont bother anything are apistos, also keyhole cichlids
