Brew, speaking of curmudgeon, I tell my students that now that I'm 50, I'm officially allowed to be a curmudgeon! :D

Well, both the Zmax and the Vamo came in today. First bit of bad news: Tara's T2s won't fit on either w/o an adaptor. That said, I don't really mind the look of the T2 w/adaptor on the Vamo; interestingly enough, it bothers me much more on the Zmax. I'm more than a bit conflicted: On the one hand, I much prefer the look of the Zmax. The Vamo looks clunky, especially in mini mode. With the sleeve, it's huge! But it's very easy to use and change watts or volts; there's a +/- buttons. To figure the resistance of the atty, hold down the + button; to find battery life, hold down the - sign. On the other hand, while the Zmax looks more polished, it's a pain to make adjustments. You know it's bad when your mod comes with an instruction booklet. You have one menu to increase the voltage/wattage, another menu to decrease it. A third menu gives you battery level, and yet another menu gives you resistance. This would drive Tara crazy! They both hit like a dream, and both give you the option of using means or VRMS to determine output. Scott points out the stupidity of this; the means option gives you inaccurate outputs; when you select 4v, you actually get closer to 6, etc. I think I'm going to give her the Vamo and if she prefers, I'll let her have my Zmax instead. I think she'll prefer the Vamo, especially in mini mode.
They're both amazing devices, overall.

Willow, I think I'll ultimately agree with you. However, I'm trying to make things as idiot-proof as possible for my sister. This is a girl who tried to plug her Ego charger into a wall unit designed to charge her Kindle! One thing I've already noticed with the Vamo; when you change batteries, it automatically goes back to 3 watts (luckily, it doesn't change from watts to volts) and cuts off! You have to press the button 5 times to turn it on. I guarantee you the first time she changes batteries, I'll get a call saying it won't work!

Yep, once you find your sweet spot with the zmax there is really nothing to do but change juice or new carto/atty when needed. I usually set the menu so that I can see the battery life and other than turn it on or off I'm set. Plus the battery life is really good. I'm liking the 18650's better than stacking the 18350's.

I've already got it showing battery life, and I'm sure I'll be the same with the 18650s. I got Tara 18350s for the Vamo simply because that we she can use it in mini mode and not need 2 different sets of batteries. What do you like to use on it? I think the Phiniac tanks look a bit clunky on it, I don't mind the look of the Vivi Nova, but quite frankly, so far I like the look of the 19mm IBT tank and the T2s more than anything.

I have changed around a lot on it that's a for sure.
I like the size and look of the Ibtanked but I have had to much trouble getting the carto's in and out of it to fill it and have had tanks of juice in my lap.
I like the phinney's on it they are a little big but not that bad.
I have even dripped with a 306.
But I have fallen in love with the submarine tanks from mom and pops recently plus its easy to fill.
I've use the china did, china bulli, china pheonix also.
Right now I'm using my phiniac though. It just depends on my mood I reckon, lol.
