Good morning, everyone. I'm going to make a small statement and I hope that I do this as neutrally and plain as possible so I don't have to restate this again.

It's a very interesting time in our lives, technology has allowed for us to be in full communications globally and right here is as good as an example as it gets. I appreciate every single aspect of it as an artist because I can share and empower my "voice" to people in a very clear way.

I am also aware of the shortcomings having this open line of communications bear to an artist and his creative integrity. I have seen it over and over again how one design, one intellectual artistic conception can get assimilated and washed down in a matter of days even. I actually just had that happen while introducing my "developed for 13+ years" marble studies. I posted my work, offered a signature series starting in December and I literally saw a young artist copy, create and market "his" piece within days. It doesn't sit well, mind you. It's frustrating and demeaning to say the least. I get it, some people need to copy.

I am experiencing the same thing with making some tips right now. I feel that the lines of artistic integrity have been blurred and crossed. I cant help it, I dont have the power to stop someone from violating my "voice", all they have to do is look here anyway and read my feelings, see my work. I cant keep people from using my favorite designs and making them out of Chinese "art" glass, I am just an artist that is trying to express his inner self and uphold his art as "collectible" I will tell you that it hurts not only my inner self, but the integrity of my work. I feel washed down, labeled, demeaned, copied and disrespected.

That said, I am happy for you as collectors to have a "choice", to see how this dialog that Bert unfolded is not only inspiring other artist to join in, but how awesome it is to see when that expression hits the mark, makes a new statement. I am very happy for you all and I know some of you advocated for this to happen, which is why I am doing this publicly, I am going to ask that you all as collectors keep your own vigil to attempt at upholding the integrity of what you have invested into. I would like to see our product stand apart from anyone else so that integrity is not blurred. I would like to see our names not be copied. If we make a piece and called it by a specific name...that is our design, our product. It is lacking of common integrity to copy a design and it's name while using the cheapest color glass available made from china. We make art glass drip tips from the best quality art glass and that should be unacceptable to any of you as well.

I will not discuss this any further, I cant. I will also say that I am trying extremely hard not to feel demoralized and continue providing you all with my innermost craft and thank you for listening.

that said, I'm off to make butterflies today...for two very special ladies :D

Freddy, I am sorry this is happening. I know that I had purchased a few drip tips from another vendor, and then saw them blatantly copy a pretty awesomely unique Trippy design (rather poorly, too!). Once I saw that, I quit purchasing from that vendor. I'm not going to support that, it's just not right. Now, I just noticed another vendor is carrying tips that look suspiciously like a custom I own, so they are on my do not buy from list as well.

I've also seen other vendors use the Trippy Tips name. I have, and would urge others to report those posts when you see them, and let Bert know as well.

Trippy Tips have evolved so much over the last year and I don't think there are any other glass artists doing tips on the same level. I would like to continue to watch (and buy) as they evolve even further. There is no other glass tip vendor that can provide the art, the community, and the spirit that is Trippy Tips.

Gonna make some coasters today I think. Hmmm what to put on what to put on. The circles are all cut out (I saved them from cutting those carriages out last week so I have a couple hundred circles already cut out.

Any ideas?

My cat looks at me exactly like that when I make her get out of my bed. LOL!

Haha nice! I liked him cause my old cat used to make that same face after he ..... all over my clean laundry  Happened once a week, on laundry day lol. Oh and then he pooped in my old PC tower!! What a jerk! You get run over by one car, and all of a sudden its ok to get away with anything..sheesh.. That cat is way old tho.

So now we have "Mr. Awesome" and "Her Cuteness"! :D
What can we say, its a party!

Whew! Just tasted my chili. I've put on a pot of my "weeknight 4 pepper chili". It's definitely gonna meet the first rule of chili: It's not chili if it doesn't make your head sweat!
Sounds bomb! Never had real Louisiana chili before :)

Actually, chili's not a Louisiana specialty. This is your mama's basic chili recipe; onions, peppers, ground meat and beans and tomatoes, kicked up to the nth notch. I start cooking my red bell peppers and onions along with cayenne, red pepper flakes, chipotles and black pepper (wait, with the red bell I guess that's 5 peppers, lol), along with a boatload of chili powder, cumin, coriander and oregano. This blooms the spices and really gives a kick.
