Hi Sedge, Well all goes well, think I've finally gotten my part of unemployment fixed. My xbosses have to confirm that they sold the business and that I'm no longer employee. The new owners had someone (family member) at the front desk and they confirmed they bought the business and that I now longer was employeed but would not let the state worker use their name. It could take up to nine weeks for me to get it if the state can't get threw to my xboss'. Needless to say I'm a little peeve'd.

I sure do hope so. What really stinks is that I started watching my sister's 4 month old daughter for a lot less than what she'd pay a daycare (no one had any openings anyway) to help her out and to make extra income then I go into work and work my shift and was told goodbye basically once my shift was over. So now I feel obligated to my sister and it's gonna be harder to find a part time job like I had evenings so that I can still help her.

Wish that I could find a home job typing (used to be a graphic artist and also worked for newspapers before I got into hospitality). That way I could still watch my niece and work.

Hi Sedge! We are holding our own, hope you guys are all well. How is Sera?

Bert - not today, my tracking has always said the 6th.

Also - does katann's necklace have a little cork in it? I am not familiar with "prayer necklaces", do you write a prayer and put it inside?

Yep, that's a cork. :)

A prayer necklace is essentially a necklace that holds special spiritual significance to the owner. They are often beaded, as with the Buddhist prayer necklaces. In this case, Bert took stories about my Dad and elements that were significant to me and to my Dad and meditated/prayed while creating this, making a very unique and personal gift.

katann, I am sure! Some jewelry people have, they say "Oh I love this! I will keep it forever." but it's just a pretty piece, or nice diamonds, or something.
A piece like your necklace is more than special ...

It truly is. And I could totally tell it was for me, the second I put it on it just felt right. :) (And yeah, I maybe shed a wee tear or two ;)...)

Bert, I love it! It is so dainty and pretty! Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

Ok, here's what I got today!!! :D It's a very special prayer necklace that Bert made for me after the loss of my Dad. I need to get a longer cord for it, but I couldn't wait to show pics. Self portrait is awful, I'll try and get the hubby to take a better pic when I get home from class. There is so much love and symbolism that went into this, and I couldn't be happier with it!

I actually saw that Stephen Dorff Blu commercial this weekend.

It bugs me that people refer to vapor as smoke. I think it really gives the wrong impression. I'm sure there will eventually more studies on the health effects of vaping, but for me personally, I definitely feel better vaping than I did smoking. I don't wake myself up wheezing and coughing and it's no problem to run up stairs anymore. E-cigs are also the *only* thing that made me put down cigarettes, and I smoked a pack a day for 20+ years, and tried everything to quit.

Yesterday I got my flu shot and for the first time in as long as I can remember I got to check the "non-smoker" box. It really felt like a huge accomplishment.

Mike - I remember Carltons ..... And my Grandfather smoked Tipperellos (sp?).
And didn't you get S&H Green Stamps on cartons of cigarettes?
I remember sticking them in the books, and picking stuff out of the catalogs with my Mom. LOL

i dont remember the green stamps on cigs but when i smoked my first one at age 21 i remember them being cheap as can be.
