... Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect from 4 am Wednesday
to 1 am PST Thursday...
A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect from 4 am Wednesday
to 1 am PST Thursday.
* Snow accumulations: 2 to 4 inches in the Yakima Valley. The
heaviest snow will be in the higher elevations of the Yakima
Valley northwest of Yakima above 1200 feet.
* Elevation: above 1000 feet.
* Timing: snow will begin late tonight toward daybreak Wednesday
morning and will continue
through tomorrow night into early
Thursday morning.
* Locations include: Naches... Sunnyside... Toppenish... Yakima
* winds: winds of 10 to 20 mph may cause some blowing and
drifting snow.
* Impacts: snowfall will make driving conditions hazardous on
roadways including Interstate 82 and Highway 12.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
A Winter Weather Advisory is issued when snow is occurring or is
expected to develop and accumulate. Travel may be hazardous...
especially on bridges... overpasses... and secondary roads.
Motorists are urged to use extreme caution... and slow down to
adjust for rapidly changing driving conditions and reduced
