Morning everyone. I gotta get caught up. Been in the ICU unit at the hospital since Friday. I had a reaction to one of the blood pressure pills that I've taken since early 2010. My tongue, neck and face swelled up and I couldn't breath. They
threatened a breathing tube but I begged em not to and thankfully the countering meds kicked in and the swelling started going down. If you ever have
any swelling after any med or maybe even a food allergy get to the emergency room pronto. I was really lucky this weekend in that I got to the hospital asap. (Oh, and I had some of the nicest male nurses that eyes could behold.) I tought it was strange that I bit my tongue in the middle of the night so hard that it woke me up, but I went back to sleep. Then about a half hour after I got up the swelling began and I went straight to the hospital. In less than and hour breathing was hard.
I hope eveyone is having a wonderful day, I am, just wish that I could eat regular food (tongue is cut up something terrible). I looked like I had a giant orange under my chin and that was also very painful. Hey, I lost 10 lbs over the weekend though and had bedside service with a smile and sleep til my hearts content, so all in all it was good once I wasn't so afraid of not being able to breath that is.
