Ya I would love to know what kind it is and so when I need I can replace it. I opend it up the first day i had it, juse a silver wrapped small battery, guses i should have read the info. Thanks for the info you all. I'll look at it again tonight.
Here is a picture all the internals and the battery. They did a great job soldering this thing and not using thin wires, looks like a quality build to me. All in all this thing as a solid device I dropped it a couple days ago and picked it back up and still work like a dream.
It's almost assuredly a LiPo. It's marked as a 3.70Wh cell so using the nominal 3.7V rating we get 3.7Wh / 3.7V = 1Ah = 1000mAh capacity. You're not going to find an IMR/IMR 18350"with a capacity that high but it may be an exaggerated Wh rating for that battery.
The biggest concern is how are you going to connect the wires to the replacement cell?

Would it be possible to replace a LIPO with a battery with a different chemistry or is that just asking for trouble?
I've though about soldering the leads directly to the positive and negative posts but I don't know how save that is. It would definitely have to be a quick job to keep the heat-exposure to a minimum.
But of course there's always duct-tape or gorilla-tape if all else fails
Awesome, thanks for the replies. Yes I'm wondering the same thing as agony, would love to reto fit a 18350 sled in there.
And as far as replacement, personally i would solder the leads directly to the battery, just do it quick. I'very done it before just not exactly fun, on those little lipo batteries for rc stuff.
I just received my Cuboid mini today, I think this makes a very nice alternative if you're looking for something small but with a bit better battery live.
It has a similar footprint to the Nugget but is about 2cm (4/5th of an inch) taller, yet is has a 2400mAh build in battery:
It's a great little kayaking mod. And if it drops at least it wasn't a nice expensive one. Loving it with the serpent mini with abalone shell drip tip.

Yeah, it's a little too hot for me unfortunately (the Serpent), but it's nice and light too with the SM on it.
Those inconsistent readings I've been having in ti-tc mode had nothing to do with the Nugget after all by the way, as it turns out one of the insulators in my Bachelor Nano was slowly dying and that was what was causing it.
