“This is plainly a circumvention of the Anti-Smoking law because it still promotes the habit of smoking — with the same arm and hand movement and the use of nicotine,” she said.

Boy, we can't allow that same arm and hand movement! But be careful how the law is worded or eating will be banned. Fork or spoon to mouth is really disgusting and promotes further eating, with all the harmful ingredients, including nicotine, found in many foods.

But these statements are just flat-out wrong:

While companies selling e-cigarettes claim that the e-cigars do not contain harmful materials since they do not undergo the process of combustion, it does contain nicotine which is a proven cause of mouth cancer.

Villareiz said nicotine is also known as highly carcinogenic, pointing out that e-cigarettes also contain nicotine which is then inhaled by the user.

Just plain idiotically WRONG. With "authorities" like these, we have our work cut out for us.

Does she have a medical degree? If so, I am astonished at her lack of knowledge about nicotine. I know more about it than she does and my degree is in English. Even if she has been out of school for many years, given her position on the "Anti-Smoking Task Force" she has an obligaton to become informed about smoking and which chemicals in smoke do what to the body. She could at the very least read Nicotine Safety and Toxicity, edited by Neal L. Benowitz.
