CA Banning E-Cigarettes Too / / Federal Court Ruling Due Soon

2009-09-08 15:38:10 - E-cigarettes have already been banned in Australia, Brazil, Canada, Israel, Mexico, and virtually in Oregon, restricted in Finland, Malaysia, and Singapore, threatened with legal action in Connecticut, and the subject of a major class action law suit. Now, reports public interest law professor John Banzhaf, they seem about to be banned in California, a move which could be followed in Kentucky and then in other states.

In related developments, e-cigarettes have been declared illegal by the FDA, the imports are being seized, and sellers might face criminal penalties; PayPal has stopped facilitating their sale; Facebook has reportedly dropped their ads; and at least one county has banned their use wherever conventional smoking is prohibited.

Now I may be wrong here, but the FDA hasn't legally made them illegal yet.

No, but they have DECLARED them illegal (being unapproved drugs), which is what the court case is about and why localities have to enact laws to actually make them so.

This is another pointless article from him saying "look, I'm right!" See George Carlin on "war": (NSFW) YouTube - George Carlin - We Like War

You know, now that I think about it, he and BigJim would have gotten along nicely. :D

Yeah, I'm feeling silly today.

Sherri, I read that release as proof positive that Banzhaf (or most likely an intern of his) reads this forum. The California info came to public light on this forum and received extensive comment. ECF is a clearing house for e-smoking concerns, so it seems obvious to me that he would keep touch on what concerns us.

I've been saying that for months. They are in Here reading everything we write and are ten steps ahead of us. :(

You are absolutely right. They troll Dr. Siegel's blog also.

JJ2--they have indeed declared them illegal and placed them on the unapproved drug and medical device list for importation. So yes, until we hear from the Court otherwise, it is illegal to import, sell, and market these in the US.

Another insignificant article by whatever that guys name is...

Yeah right. I can't bring myself to say his name neither.
He is to e-cigarettes, personal vaporizers, etc, what Timothy F Ball is to the climate change arguement. ie. he has his head up his own .... to all arguement except what he wants to believe eg. what arguement pays him the most kickbacks
Pure evil. The only difference between the two is that one gets his kickbacks from BP and BT and the other from major oil and gas interests. Both are asses of the highest order, looking to line their own pockets.
I figure that the best way to deal with these types is to discredit them, use their own 'gutter politics' against them.
