Aside from flavor preference what is your nicotine amount?

Been a Marlboro red/Winston red smoker and I'm thinking that:
1) 18mg. nicotine juice isn't doing it for me or is old.
2) it's me not trying hard enough.
3) I need to spend $200 on a Provari setup to
financially force myself off the analogs:)
All the flavors taste great to me but my tastebuds are still dull.
What nicotine levels have all you used to get off the cigs for good.
Also did you lower the nicotine after time?

I'm at 12mg after a being a diehard 24mg vaper. My goal is to get to 0, but I am not forcing myself into doing it in any given time frame. I can see myself vaping long after, as I enjoy the habit and the hobby of vaping. The only mod is use right now is an original lavatube with a rebuildable atomizer on top, but I am waiting for Vapor Beast to get some new Versas in, I really just want one for the look of the thing.

I started at 24mg on basic gear. That got me off of cigs, I just couldn't stand the taste of em after vaping. A few weeks later, I transitioned to where I was mostly at 18mg. Then after a month, I cautiously started using 12mg and am almost to the point where that is all I need. Everyone is different, and I've heard several people say it took a year or more to transition to 18. I had some old juice from 2 years prior when I started and that stuff was terrible, didn't work for me at all. Just remember, every vape you take is one less puff off a cig.

18 to 24 mg. Now and to get off cigs. Lower mg at night and/or vape less.

Haven't really lowered it much. I'm tending to either vape less or maybe pour a little more PG/VG into my DIY mix to lower it from 24.

What kept me off cigs...not just the nic level... but the "quality hit". For me at the time (over 2 years ago, mind you) it was 5 volts with 3.1 ohm coils.

So mg effect on you is also a factor of e-cig performance. So is TH and vapor production. All factors.

I usually go for the 18 when I know I'm going to vape all day with a liquid, but I do have a couple I get @ 24mg for the "special" times. When I order something for the first time, I go 18. I can't vape all day at anything higher, though. I really love BB Casablanca and Malty Toffee at 18. More nicotine is supposed to give a better throat hit, true?

I started with 24 (only because they were out of 18 and offered me 24 or 12 - didn't want 12) and I'm glad because the first couple weeks I had bad cravings in the afternoon and the 24 mg was enough to keep me hanging in there. Then after the first couple weeks, I didn't care about cigs anymore. Now I'm starting to buy 18 mg and I think after I get a stock of that and finish up my 24 mg stuff (I still like it in the morning) I might go to 12 for the evenings. We'll see. Don't have any pressure on myself. Didn't start vaping to quit because I gave up quitting, failed too many times - it was too hard to quit. Now a little over a month of vaping, I don't want to smoke a cigarette anymore.....go figure.

From 2+ PAD, I started with 18 mg but made a point to vape frequently, even two or three draws every ten to fifteen minutes, to prevent nicotine drops. For the first week I also vaped 24 mg an hour before going to bed and an hour right after getting up in the morning to help a bit in preventing a severe nicotine drop. Knock on wood, I never had anything I could describe as a serious cigarette craving once I started vaping.

I'm fine at 18 mg and plan to start moving down to 12 mg when I next order juice. I vastly prefer flavor over throat hits so I'm headed that direction. I think you should experiment with different approaches until you find something that works for you. It's obvious to me from the posts on ECF that there is no such thing as a one size fits all solution.

I agree with AttyPops. When I started vaping at 5v, I didn't need as much nic to get a decent throat hit. It helped me lower my nic. Now I am vaping at 10-12 mgs. I tried to go down to 8 mg nic for awhile, but it wasn't satisfying me as much so went back up. 5v or 5.5v vaping is really nice for me and gives me a great throat hit on a lower nic, of course depending on the juice I'm using as well as the atomizer/cartomizer I'm using. There are alot of variables to try out to get yourself comfortable.
