The only issue I have against the DNA 30 board is that it doesn't allow less than 7w or 4v and there are many vapors that prefer the lower output. The DNA 40D board address's that and adds the temperature option as well. I do vape at higher power settings... but I'd like to see a lower end board ( 40w or whatever ) that provided both a buck and boost circuit. I suspect making a lower wattage output board wouldn't be much of a cost savings though over the manufacturing cost that the DNA 40 has... so I don't know if we'd see much of a cost savings if lower power boards were produced.

My main mod is now a Vaporshark DNA 30 and I have been enjoying it a lot. I've also got a A-Mod ZNA clone as well as a Kangside Vamo 30w which I also like but they are a bit heavy to be carrying them... so one is left at home and one at work as backup to the Vaporshark. I almost purchased one of the iSticks as an inexpensive one to leave in the car... but them having PWM using vAVG as apposed to vRMS was something I couldn't get past.

And why is that? Can you tell a difference? I've not considered the iStick but mainly because of power limitation. Is it just because it's not as accurate?

Yes I can tell the difference between a pure DC output and PWM... and using vAVG instead of vRMS means that at the lower settings, the output feels off more ( higher power ) from what a pure DC would feel like which comes back to a user being able to set the device at a lower output if they so desired.

The difference between a pure DC vs the more accurate PWM vRMS ( instead of the PWM vAVG ) is in how high you can turn the power up before the juice starts to taste burnt AND the vapor somehow "feels" smoother ( probably from the frequency the pulses are at ). On my ADV, I vape at 6.5-7w using PWM and with a pure DC output I'm vaping the same juice at 10.5w or a little higher. It was the first couple of things I noticed right off when I moved from my PWM mod's over to the DNA types.

Heya rd been a while! The Orbitz lets me vape at 3.7, not regulated but yeah

Howdy Krispers... I've been around ( about like you I suppose )... just don't post much in the contest thread... and there aren't a lot of techy questions happening much... Sort of the down side of being an introvert I guess, not big on the chit chat but like something that makes me think a bit... And as for joking around... like you and turt... mine tend to the dry side which often gets misunderstood... so I try to save those types of responses for when it's really obvious that I'm not being serious ( and often still get misunderstood :D )

Excellent! You just taught this old dog a new trick! Now I'm off to study with my new found knowledge so I can truly be dangerous. Thanks for taking my neurons!!!

Totally pointless question coming up.
Why can't I load page 2 of this thread? Seen others having similar probs on other threads. You can wait till page 3 to answer then I might see it.
Clear your browser cache and if that don't work try a different browser other than Firefox
