Hello jtsu wondering why in a ask the vets section, I asked some questions and got some answers but the thread was locked and i was unable to respond. Maybe a noob question but wouldnt it be easier if I was able to continue with further questions in that thread rather then having to start a new one?

That is how Ask A Vet works. (And explained in stickys.). If you want a discussion you post in the New Members or another appropriate section after you have 15 posts under your belt.

Ask A Vet is where all the really old vets go that can't hike around the forums any more or manage more than a one reply discussion
Maybe true but when I joined a year and a half ago this place was a lot smaller. There wern't nearly as many sub forums and approx. 30,000 new members have arrived here since then.
