Well, I tried a 0.4 EVO coil in the Melo III. First thing, it seemed to screw in kind of roughly. I'm not sure if I didn't get it in quite straight or what. I'm going to take a better look when I get low on juice. It's not leaking or anything, so I guess it's in there. I do think it's somewhat better than the eleaf coils that I have tried in the Melo, but it's definitely muted compared to the Atlantis EVO. While I'd say the Melo is usable, the EVO is the clear winner in my book.

Ah good to know and that makes sense I'd say. As for the threading, I'm going to guess Eleaf doesn't machine quite like Aspire. Not just because of what you said, but because yesterday I installed the Eleaf EC Notch in the EVO and though it does fit and work, the base nor cap thread as smoothly as with the Aspire coils. I hope I didn't screw up my EVO threads, but I really don't think I did. As for the Notch flavor, it's damn good, I'd say on par with the Triton Clapton or maybe better, but not as good as either of the two EVO coils. Then again, it's good enough that if the Notch lasted a really long time without muting flavors, it would be a winner. I doubt that's the case, but I'll report back in a couple weeks.

Speaking of the Triton Clapton, I LOVED that coil when it first came out. It was the closest I had gotten with a pre-made coil to dripping. Then I fell in love with the Cleito. Like I originally said, the EVO coils are on par with the Cleito in flavor. In fact, I think I prefer the flavor of the EVO coils. So in addition to installing an EC Notch coil, I installed a Triton Clapton as well. I was actually surprised by how muted the flavor was compared to the EVO coils. Considering what I thought of the Cleito coil after using the Triton coil, I guess I should have expected it, but I didn't.

Both the EC and the Triton have airflow similar to the .5 EVO, which I did expect. Neither are as open and the .4 EVO or the Cleito. Anyway, as of now, I'm preferring both EVO coils to these two. In a few weeks, I may try a Vaporesso cCell in the EVO, just so I can report if it really works or not since I have some laying around and many people like them.

I have 2 Evos, I'm using the Triton 1.8ohm coils (bc I can't subohm). I'm having an issue with both of them leaking like crazy, like making a huge mess, leaking! I'm careful to not get juice in the coil, I check to make sure the coil is tight enough (but not TOO tight), I've done everything that I know to do. The only thing I feel that could be done to at least help with the problem is to use a thicker juice and I can't do that and even if I could, I shouldn't have to!

Another issue I have with this tank is having to take the entire thing apart, including the glass, just to change the coil. Call me crazy, but I don't think I should have to carry an extra bottle, for each setup, just so I can empty the tank to change the coil. I can't even imagine how that would go when I'm out for date night or grocery shopping or just away from the house and my coil burns out unexpectedly, I'd have to carry 2 bottles (bc I always carry 2 setups) and make sure there are plenty of paper towels/napkins so that I can find a place to completely disassemble my tank, just to change a coil. It's a very strange concept to me.

I'm using the Melo 3 (4ml) tank with the 1.8ohm Triton coil and so far I'm really enjoying it! I don't have any leaking issues (as of now, it's still very new) and I don't have to take the tank apart to get to the coil. I haven't had any issues with the coils fitting properly, no flooding or, as I said, leaking. It seems to be a much better setup for me than the Evo. My Nautilus' (which is what I'm replacing and why I bought the Evos and the Melo 3) didn't even leak this bad, it's very irritating!

Not sure why you're leaking so much. I think I had mine leak once when I filled it too full. Is it only leaking when you fill it? If so you might try closing the airflow all the way before you fill it.
As for the replacing the coils, you do need to have an empty tank. I just wait until I vape it almost dry before I change it.
I've only used the EVO coils, so I can't say about the Triton 1.8s. The EVO is more of a sub-ohm DL tank (Its got quite a wide open draw), so it might not have been your best bet for MTL.

It's not only leaking when I fill the tank, it definitely does leak MORE after filling, like 30-45 mins after. I do MTL vape so I have the airflow on the tighter side, however, that shouldn't have anything to do with filling the tank. I don't typically vape my tank dry, in fact I avoid that if at all possible and when I do refill, I don't overfill.

I'm not sure why the Triton 1.8s would make a difference in the way the tank works, I agree the airflow is open, if that's how you want it, but I don't think that makes it a bad tank for MTL vaping because you can close it off enough to be a great MTL tank.

I agree the Evo might not be the best bet for ME, but not because of the airflow or coils (although the 1.8ohm coil is great for MTL and ME), it's not the best bet because it seems kind of crazy to have to completely disassemble a tank just to change a coil and then have it leak constantly for no reason at all. I've been vaping nearly 3 years and while I'm far from an expert, I do know the do's and don't's of filling/using a tank.

I'm sorry if that sounds snotty, I really don't mean it that way!

You didn't come across snotty. I know it's frustrating when your gear isn't working correctly. I wish I could be of more help. You said you had two, so it's not likely that both have bad o-rings or other issues. What VG/PG ratio are you using? Maybe someone who has used the 1.8 will chime in. Like I said, I don't have issues with leaking, nor have I read any complaints from others about leaking.

I questioned the fact that you couldn't change coils without draining the tank before I bought mine, but to be honest, it's not really a big deal to me. When I feel that the coil is starting to go bad, I just finish the tank off, not to the last drop, but almost empty.

The VG/PG is kind of a guess lol. I mix a lot of my juices, but they range from 50/50 to 70/30, I would say it's pretty close to 60/40. That's why I'm so frustrated, I haven't seen complaints about leaking either so it would seem like I'm the only one (so far)!

I've heard a few people say that they don't mind having to take the tank apart to change the coil. It just goes to show how different vapors are. I can taste a difference when the tank gets bellow half, but I've been told I have an oddly sensitive palate lol.

I love my Atlantis EVO that I bought recently. Flavor is great. I am a relatively new vaper but I have developed a restrictive lung hit sweet spot that's usually around 35-45w. This tank and the Aspire coils has been perfect for me.
Been about 10 months with using the EVO, still like them. Bought the new Cleito EXO recently, nice tank, but still prefer the EVO. I think the taste is better with the EVO.
