wow, just the wick used up? the coil does not burn out? holy smokes(no pun intended) I can do this. have the best vape and save $$$! this really does put rba to shame already. do you just put the new wick through the old coil. or do you unwind and rewind it? sorry for being dumb I never rebuilt a prebuilt coil. also, which is best wick for it? Japanese cotton? I actually like ceramic but can kill your lungs thus killing us duh. I don't understand why just the wick gets used up here. usually coil shorts. when the stock coil is done I get burnt taste. whoa I am so happy right now! thanks.

edit: do you put the stock packing back in?

if you don't want to build it is the best clearo. rivaling some rba's. if you do wish to build it is now the best rba! I still prefer sx mini to dna40. as above nickel takes a few tries on anything. I prefer not to build so mated great to the sx mini. power curve control is not as advanced as temp control but it is a no brainer. with that combo it is darn good plug and play.

I do like it on NI200. I can fire it at 40 watts set 530 F with it not wicked all the way and no burned taste at all. I know that if I chain vape like crazy, without letting it wick up, that cotton can get dry. Still able to puff huge clouds like the stock coil.

I did use this on my sx mini as soon as I got it. If I did anything past 30 watts in soft mode, I'll definitely get a burnt taste. It's still a pleasant experience. The dna 40 works better for me because my cotton lasts so much longer. I love my sx mini for my drippers where I can change the cotton easily.

I just got my Atlantis in last night. I'm a dripper through and through but wanted an on the go piece that would at least resemble my drippers. I have to say I'm very pleased with it. I like the big air flow and the ability to control it. It's easy to wick fast as you can drip some juice right in the cotton surrounding the coil prior to filling. It is very high quality and the airflow control is the best I have seen. I think juice flow control is pointless but it's there.

It had a bit of an odd taste at first which is common with cotton, it has since gone away. Compared to my drippers flavor is a tad muted, vapor production is the same and convenience is way better. I think it's worth sacrificing a little flavor for convenience but will always have drippers around. This is how I would compare my Magma dripper with my Atlantis.

Magma Dripper

Flavor: 10
Vapor Production: 9
Convenience: 7
Overall Difficulty: 7
Overall Satisfaction: 8

Atlantis

Flavor: 8
Vapor Production: 9
Convenience: 10
Overall Difficulty: 9
Overall Satisfaction: 9

I just use a layer of Japanese cotton cut the same width as the stock wick. One of the center layers. Use a drill bit to put the coil on and wrap it around and reassemble.

So reading this thread after having lack of taste issues with the Atlantis I decided to rewick one of my heads. I swapped out the ceramic for some Japanese cotton. Vapor production is still excellent but flavor is still lacking. I tried tons of different wattage/airflow combos and everything I tried had very muted flavor. Not much left to try.

Hey does anyone use atlantis on an ipv2s? I've been struggling with either one of them. Basically, the ohm would jump really high (from .5 to 1.8 then to sth like 3+). IPV2s then would adjust voltage to like 8V =___+. You can imagine what a nightmare that can be. I literally feel like I am inhaling metal... This resistance jump comes so randomly so I cannot predict it. One minute it vapes decently when I'm walking, you know, that kind of flavorful and warm vapor on a cold day, the next minute, it strikes me with a 25W at 3 ohm, which turns the world up side down for me.

I've tried a lot of things such as changing to a different coil, cleaning out every part of the tank, etc. Originally, I thought it was IPV2S issue, but then I put a Nautilis on the mod, and it's been very stable ohm reading for the past two days, so I guess the contact point is fine. For the time of my life I cannot think of anything else that I can do. Any one running Atlantis + IPV2S got any advice? I've searched ohm jump/resistance jump but found nothing that relates to either Atlantis or IPV2S.

p.s. That time I was walking on campus, enjoying the warm vapor, the unexpected resistance jump kicks in, I literally threw up when I was crossing the road... So at this point I am almost a little scared to even use the atlantis because of all the negative reinforcements.

I believe just referring to the castle shape of the chimney. Which can either leave the holes on the coil wide open, or partially closed off. I don't think it has much affect on the actual juice flow though.
It doesn't matter if the battlements cover the coil openings. There is a sufficient gap to allow E-Liquid to flow around and into the coil.

The next time you change the coil, before filling, take a fresh coil and screw it into the upper an have a close look. You will see the gap.

Just remember to remove the coil from the upper and put it back in the lower assembly for filling and going back to normal use ;)

Well today I tried something new. I pulled the bottom contact pin off of Nautilis and put it on Atlantis. And the ohm reading has been stable at 0.6 ohm for several hours. Need to further test it out to see if it was the OEM contact pin that was the problem. Nautilis has that kind of pin that has a spring, it is also quite a bit longer than Atlantis' pin. This makes the pin stand out more, which creates higher pressure between tank's pin and the mod's top contact, therefore a better connection.

I noticed when you take it apart all this "grit" comes off the wick. obviously why there is a screen. I don't suppose that is good to get in ones lungs. in fact a tiny particle in a lung can kill you. I have no idea if it is alright or not. still, probably better with cotton.

It's ceramic wicking

muggs, it has juice flow control, where?

It looks like it but the fins are too far from the wall of the coil housing for it to actually work. When you screw the tank back together after filling it you will notice if you loosen it slightly from fully tightened that you can cover the wick holes or leave them fully exposed

Like I said though when you close it it's not actually closed it just looks like it.If the fins ran tight against the coil housing it would actually be juice flow control but it's not. In the end I wouldn't want to restrict my juice anyway as the problem with high wattage usually is wicking anyway.
