Vapor Chronicles has claimed the new Eleaf MELO cotton coils work in the Atlantis. They are still .5ohm but at least its an option.

5:45 into the video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NZUNTJpcjVg
The Melo coils don't wick as well as the Atlantis coils, holes are smaller. Hopefully they'll make the holes bigger. Going to buy a Melo and use Atlantis coils.

Just out of curiosity has anyone tried the FastTech coils? Im thinking it is probably pretty easy to clone the coils.
I have some fasttech 1 ohm coils on order that ae compatible with the Atlantis. One reviewer reports success. Most of the time I want to vape at 8-10 watts. That's the amount of vaper I want most of the time. My IPV 2s minimum voltage will not fire a .5 ohm coil below 25 watts. WIth a 1 ohm coil it will fire at lower watts on the IPV. I'm interested in the new iStick 30watt mini because the minimum voltage claimed is lower than the IPV.

Has anyone used a pin gage to measure the difference? :D

I need to clarify this. First, this isn't based on my experience. The folks over at VapeNW have run 80/20 VG/PG juice through the Melo coils and said they don't wick as well as the Atlantis coils because the holes in the Melo coils are smaller.

So Cal
I've been on my Atlantis for 5 days now, and I love it. I'm not into puffing multiple cloud formations or trying to make it rain, but the ability to do that with a close friend or impress the drippers at the local shop/bar is there for sure! I'm on my second rig and tank #3 in under a month of vaping. My first was an Aspire ETS glass on a SMOK pen batt, quickly upped my capacity to a Kanger aerotech v1, and now Im running a small mod (IPV Mini) with the Atlantis. THE BEST THING IS I HAVENT CRAVED A CIG IN WEEKS AND MY BETTER HALF SMOKES DAILY! SO IM AROUND THEM!

I use nothing but high VG as I want to avoid PG as much as I can (concerns over inhaling radiator fluid! LOL). I burned out a coil last night chain vaping while surfing and joining this site. (Doing an avg of 4ml/day of the thick stuff) I stayed up till 2am reading and posting! It was my fault (I think) as the tank got low, but still had juice in it. It also gave less vape on exhale than before... which many here have also commented on when the coil goes. The small hits (and lower wattages) still tasted fine, but any big hits at the higher wattage tasted burnt and gnarly! I still had the extra coil in the box switched it out, primed it and turned it down till I thought it was broken in. Now hitting just like new!

I am also concerned about the use of silca wicks by Aspire in the atomizer/coil units... so rebuilding these will have to come next! I'm heading down to the local shop tomorrow to give it a go with 26g and Japanese cotton on my old coil. The way I see it is I have nothing to lose! I'll report back afterwards!

So Cal
I look forward to your post

I hate to double post, but curiosity got the better of me and I tore into the suspected burnt coil... burn is confirmed!

The image below shows all the parts once gutted.

My Burnt Atlantis Coil 1.jpg

And here is a close up of the burnt coil and the burnt Silca wick.

My Burnt Atlantis Coil 2.jpg

Looks super easy to rebuild... might be even easier if I used cotton bacon!

I'm gonna get the 5ml tank from aspire which will be much cheaper.

jruss91 Do you have an eta on the Aspire 5ml tank or a link? I don't like the 8ml tank, so out of proportion with the 22mm base!

Darryl Licht How did your 1st rebuild go? The wicking material Aspire use is some kind of 'ceramic filler' like cloth, not silica which is well known and fine to use.
I just rebuilt the very first coil from mine as I disliked the muted and strange flavor of my regular juice produced by it. 100% easy and effective using organic cotton pad and coil clean up. I think though, that I still prefer my rda's and rta's all told. The Atlantis is amazing for what it is and does:vapor:

NicFix, my coil is still showing the same .57ohm reading it showed when I first installed it. No fluctuations. I run it at 35watts on my IPV3 and use about 15ml a day of 90/10 VG/PG homemade Vanilla Custard.

Hi 1990FOXBODY, the Alantis sure eats up the juice, that's for sure! I am about to try to DIY some custard...any recipe recommendation beyond StevO's?
