I had too pick one of these up to try. Found one at vaporider.net for 27 shipped on the black Friday sales. I picked up some coils at the same time at Kidney Puncher for their bf sales. I got the coils today and hope to get the tank this week. On the rebuild topic I have already seen a vid on fb of an Atlantis rebuild, looked pretty straight forward.

@Jonner, I did not think the Provari would sub ohm.

so.. I got mine on 11/21.. still using original coil... ( jealously guarding that extra coil that came with it )
have used it daily. 35-40w, on the sigelei I bought with it. using generally max vg or 80/20 juices. have had a dry hit or two.. but if I pay attention, make sure I see bubbles, doesnt happen.
there are some pulls that are just as good as my drippers. period. some not as much. but a darn decent commercial piece of kit. tank is kinda small.. but it holds more than any rda, including my magma, so, cant really complain.

I just changed the Atlantis coil after 12 days of heavy usage. I was still getting a very good vape and the flavor was still excellent. I just changed , well... because I had another coil from the kit and just got a 5 pack. I didn't feel he need to change, but was interested in seeing how the original coil was doing.

To my surprise the vapor increased about 30%!. Since I've been vaping it all day daily, I really didn't notice the reduction in vapor. It was still producing gobs of vapor for me and the flavor was still great. But the new coil increased vapor significantly. The flavor hasn't changed though so no real difference there. Not a big deal either way, it just surprised me that the vapor increased so dramatically and I really didn't notice any drop off... although obviously that was what happened. I did an air pull through the old coil and the new coil and the new coil had a much easier draw (this was with the coils only, outside the tank). So I rinsed and blew out the original coil and the draw returned to the same easy draw as the new one. So I'll let it dry a bit and try it in the tank again to see how it vapes.

There is no problem here... just more of an observation. I'll let you all know how the dried original coil performs in a day or 2. BTW, the original coil itself was very clean after rinsing and didn't show any degradation. Still nice and shiny kanthal after rinsing.

I noticed how to tell when the coil is producing less. there will be a marked decrease in the sizzle sound. when you just hear the air you are drawing it is time to change. even than it produces more than a bvc. so you could keep using it. I can get like 40ml before it tastes burnt. this has cut my vaping way down. good thing, save money. I do about two tanks a day. with bvc I did about 30ml a day. even at 6mg it will really give me a nic high if I lay on it. I tried 30mg first and barfed lol.

I have ran 4 or 5 tanks now so update:

Vapor production is insane but flavor is still lacking for me. My normal vapes are Kayfun lite+ at 18.8w and Silo lite at 12.1w. Both of these produce much more flavor this far. I have tried the Atlantis between 15w and 35w and can't seem to get good flavor. I am going to run more tanks through it as maybe I have not hit the break in time on the coil.

My build on the Kayfun is a 32g triple wrapped chimney coil wicked with Japanese cotton.

Running three of these things right now.. Vapor is not as "thick and chewy" as a good RDA (Veritas, Plum, Mephisto) but it absolutely destroys my Kayfuns in vapor production and with the same juice in both - when the Atlantis' wattage is cranked up 35 on my Raptor box - it kills on both accounts!

Getting reports that the coils in these are lasting anywhere between 2-3 weeks before noticeable performance drop.. I think pBusardo had it right... this thing was designed by sub-ohm vapors for sub-ohm vapors..stellar performance and flavor.

Too much vapor for all-day (for me anyway) but definitely has it's place.. Very well designed and performing product.. it's a freaking clearomizer.. still blows my mind

I have pretty much given up on my Atlantis. The flavor is just very lacking. It does not have a bad taste it is just the flavor is muted (maybe 70% of my kayfun) Vapor production is insane but I am more of a flavor junkie. I have not changed the coil after maybe 10 tanks or so but I have stopped using it for now.

that's strange. either you have a dud coil atlantis,a great kf or you build better than me. atlantis blows away kfl+ for me in every regard. top rda is better but way less convenient. the thing is insane for a clearo. I think by the next go they have all rda beat. this thing can drip at 150w but I am a little scared. I use it at 35w with the tank. the fact it did not explode at 150w is amazing.

the coils last me about 60ml. which is 5 days lol. only problem is a lot of filling with this. good thing is it cut me way back. that is 60ml in 5 days of 4mg. before I used 15ml a day at 30mg! it is more satisfying than anything really to me. I can take 2 hits of 30ml and it is like I smoked weed lol.

At least for me, low wattage and high wattage flavor has always been different with the same juice. When I use a Nautilus or Kayfun in the 10 to 13 watt range there is a distinct difference in flavor profile with the same juice in my Plume Veil at 45watts. I wouldn't say one is better than the other, just a very different flavor. If I had expectations of a low wattage Kayfun flavor and used an Atlantis at 35 watts I could see how someone would not be satisfied with the flavor since to me it is similar flavor to the Plume Veil flavor. And quite honestly, the Atlantis is not a satisfying vape at 10 to 13 watts, nor is the Plume Veil. I don't really have a preference between the high/low wattage vape flavor, I like them both... but they are different for me.

You can't get very good flavor production using either the two biggest airholes. The smallest or 2nd smallest (ideal imo) , will produce very nice flavor.

I think most ppl set it at the biggest airhole, are mesmerized by the huge cloud capability but then criticize the lack of flavor. So try it out on the smallest or 2nd smallest. Also another remedy would be to use a smaller drip tip. But overall i'm happy leaving the huge drip tip and setting it at the lowest or 2nd lowest airhole. Sometimes i will vape it on the biggest airhole for the heck of it

I had the same issue as other with my Atlantis, chemical/burnt flavor. Primed the coil with max VG juice, filled the tank and let it soak for an hour before I ever hit it. Zero juice flavor.

I was able to dismantle the atomizer. Even after my hour soak, with just 3 pulls at 20 watts, there were dry spots on the wicking and some very slight yellowing, I think was the start of burning.

Very important note: the stock coil has resistance and non-resistance wire soldered together. It looks and feels like 24 gauge, just a hair over 3 wraps at 4mm. Coincidentally, these numbers work out on the app for a .5 Ohm coil.

did you figure out why you were getting the nasty chem taste? i soaked mine in vodka, totally cleaned it and used a 100 VG that i knew what it should taste like, and i stopped getting the nasty burnt, chem taste but the flavor was slightly muted. i think i almost got it down the wattage/flavor on my last fill up but my bad luck i was filling it on my desk and somehow managed to knock it off while putting the lid back on my ejuice container, and it hit the floor and totally shattered.

so i cleaned the coil again, noticed my coil stuffing(not sure what its called) was turning green on the sides. still not sure why i wasnt using a green colored ejuice, so i yanked the bottom cap off the coil and pulled the coil and the stuffing out, my coil was charged and had pieces of i assume to be stuffing burned on it? it wasn't juice.

I ended up taking apart all the wicks and rebuilding the coil with NI200 for use on my vs rdna40. I used japanese organic cotton and peeled back a sliver. This took me 5 tries before I had the perfect combination figured out. I kept getting it flooded or poor wicking. Now I have it just right. The flavor is so much better with the benefits of cotton and the temperature sensing ability. Set it at 33 watts and 490 F. Huge clouds and a much better experience than stock. I have 7 of the coils premade now so I don't have to f with it to change one out. So far, the first coil has lasted me 2 30 ml bottles with the same flavor as it started. No more of that nasty ceramic fabric crap also. Once I got the technique down, it's much easier to build than any other rta I've owned. Matter of a fact, my other rtas are pretty much retired.

if you don't want to build it is the best clearo. rivaling some rba's. if you do wish to build it is now the best rba! I still prefer sx mini to dna40. as above nickel takes a few tries on anything. I prefer not to build so mated great to the sx mini. power curve control is not as advanced as temp control but it is a no brainer. with that combo it is darn good plug and play.

did you figure out why you were getting the nasty chem taste?

It was a result of the max vg juice not wicking, and the flavor I was using just being muted somehow by this atomizer. Waiting for my extra atomizers I've probably re-wicked my original atomizer 5 times, and tried a few different coil creations. Most creative was a 2 strands of 24 twisted to get down to .59 it worked for a bit but not ideal.

I suggest everyone get some cotton bacon or organic and simply re-wick the stock coil. This atomizer is so big it is crazy easy to rebuild. Probably do all of them this way. Pull the pin, carefully pull the coil and wick. Trim the flat wick into a smaller strip and put it back in. Wrap the coil in cotton. Just takes a little practice to trim the cotton wrap until you just barely have to force the coil back in. If you know what flavor you are going to use it can be even easier. The cotton flavor is gone in less than a tank. Now that I think of it I'd suggest torching the coil while its out, might shorten the brake-in even more. Flavor is just as good as my tugboat. Truly the best vape wide open DTL. I can only hope the Subtank is as good or an improvement.

do you replace the coil or just the wick and reuse the stock coil?

Reuse the stock coil. The stock wire is so big it is very easy to reuse it. It holds its shape better than any other coil i've rebuilt. You only have to be mildly careful as you pull it apart. I imagine one could have a problem if a coil is over used and the wicking is stuck to the coil from a burnt candy juice...
