Hi!

New vaper here, 39days without an analog.

Drove up the mountain (twice) 2 days after receiving my new setup. After both occasions I noticed my tank had leaked due to the pressure change, tried to vape on it without much luck. On one of the occasions I noticed liquid on the battery head after I had been trying to use it. Since then I don't get much power out of it. I tried cleaning everything properly, changed the coil, it works on 1 hit out of 10 maybe, the others are low in vape and sometimes even have a slight burnt taste.

So my question is, is it possible I fried my battery by using it while there was liquid on the head? And would it still be half working if it's really the battery which has a problem?

Thanks!

Hi dms and welcome!

Your battery is sealed, so I doubt a little leak from the ET-S would kill it; the only unsealed part of the battery is around the button--did your eliquid spill down the battery body all the way down there?

It sounds more like your ET-S coils may be at fault here. I have an Aspire ET-S and I find the draw rather tight, tighter than I like it myself. If your ejuice is thick and if you're vaping fast, you may experience dry hits. Also if your wattage is too high.

Do you have any other toppers you can try on your Twist?

Yes I have a Joye ego-cc top, i've tried that on the twist and I don't get as much vape as on my Joye ego-c upgrade battery.

The aspire was working wonderfully for the 1st 2 days, clouds of vape and yet a real smooth light hit, I loved it. I also tried vice versa, the aspire on the joye ego-c upgrade in variable voltage mode and it works alot better then with the twist...

That's strange.

Like I said, unless your eliquid somehow seeped into the battery via the opening around the button, a little leak will not hurt a sealed battery. Something else is going on. Is the voltage dial working properly? Maybe you got a bad battery? Is it still under warranty? If it is, contact your vendor and ask for a replacement.

A fried battery will not work at all.

ETA: If it works 1 out of 10 times, there may be a connectivity problem. Check if the center pin is in a proper position--maybe it got depressed when you cleaned too vigorously or over tightened the topper inadvertently. That center pin can be pulled up, very, very gently; use a tiny screwdriver or or even a paperclip to push the pin up just a tiny bit. Clean the threads with alcohol and wiggle the center post in the battery, from all sides, to raise it a hair.

You can also get a circuit board spacer and just drop it on top of the pin.

So gave both batteries another test and the first couple of hits with the twist were perfect, then the same thing happened, put the ego-c on and the same problem occured. Tried both batteries again on the ego-cc top and both seemed to work fine.

So you must have been right, it's the ET-S which is the problem, despite having changed the coil today. So probably need to try thinning my liquid you reckon?

My Aspire ET-S is finicky. The taste is good, but I find the draw a bit too tight for my taste--I hate tight draw.

To thin your eliquid, just add a drop or two of distilled water per ml, or so. And be careful--don't take very long draws, do not power vape, over vape etc. And use moderate wattage--if your wattage is too high, you'll get dry hits.

Have you tried any of the Kanger BCC toppers? I like most of them, T3S, baby T3S, eVod, Aerotanks...

Good luck.

did you try the center pin thing katya suggested? if you have other attys it mighta pushed both pins down and it just isnt makin a proper connection (or if you overtighten). for some reason it seems more likely to me that its your center pin because you are getting good hits inbetween. i think if something with your battery were bad, or the tank itself, you wouldn't get good hits ever.
