Hey everyone, I have had my aspire nautilus for almost two weeks now and up until now it has been flawless. I recently changed my coil head, dripped a few drops into coil, primed it, let sit for 20 minutes..Tasted like crap. New coil, same procedure, same outcome. ONE MORE TIME. Same damn thing. I have been reading that this maybe be because of the hole placement on the coil heads. I looked in my 5 pack and found one with the most upper placed holes there were. STILL THE SAME OUTCOME!! I have no idea what to do and i am now tempted to go out and buy a pack of cigarettes after almost 2 weeks smoke free after 8 years of smoking. Somebody must have some input about this. Or suggestions on a new tank without rebuilding. THANK YOU.

The wicking material in these coils needs to be thoroughly saturated before using them. I like to drip 6-8 drops of juice down into the coil where the mesh screen is and let it fully soak in. Once I put it all together (with the tank full) I give it a few unpowered primer puffs.

When I first start to vape with a new coil I turn down the power, take a few draws and slowly increase it until I reach my desired power level.

Unfortunately i just tried swapping the liquid and I am still experiencing this problem :( Its weird because the two coil heads that came with the nautilus did not have this problem. There worked beautifully. Now when I take a pull, it feels as though the liquid is not getting onto the coil enough or something and with a 40/60 PG/VG this should not be a problem. The vapour is now much hotter then usual and the taste is still terrible.

You possibly may have burned the juice in the tank which I've had happen and it ruins the juice in the tank. Have you tried swapping the juice?

I've had that happen. It just doesn't seem to get any better and I have tossed the juice in the tank. I use only cereal sugary type juice myself but one in particular, which was dark brown before it was even steeped, we had a lot of problems with, regarding coils. Between my husband and myself, at the time we had only Nautlus Mini tanks but it too kept causing problems with coils. I gave up after the 4th ruined one. But we each had between 2-4 set ups all using sweet cereals and none of them were ever as dark as that one. Even so, they only lasted 9-10 days. I recently moved up to sub ohm and am leaving this particular dark one for making my own cils believing I shall have a bit more control then.

But the point being, it too seemed to make the juice in the tank taste burnt and i had to toss it and hold off until a different tank/coil set up. But it was the only one I ever had like that.

Hopin you might have it all fixed by now.

Secondly ARE YOU SURE you have legitimate coils?

I once had a very similar problems and to this day I know that the coils I did buy at my recent brick and mortar store were fakes. I had something else as well that was problematic and further proved to me that this particular store were not necessarily as knowledgeable as they might have thought they were.
I don't for one minute believe they were doing it intentionally but i think they were new to the game, and buying online at sites that do sell fakes and perhaps weren't either aware of it but needless to say, I spent money there, quite a bit but I then went online to a spot in China, that does often sell fakes but i found the authentic ones, ordered 4 packages and never had a problem again, at less than half of the cost that this particular store had been selling them.

Just a possibility to consider, IF the juice isn't so sweet its almost black and not handling the coils well at all.

i would check and turn down you voltage to something like 3.6 volts or like 6watts with a new head installed i dont drip into my heads like most but instead i just fill the tank and let it sit for like 10-15 minutes usually before firing it for the first time, the first few times i fire it are just for a split second and i dont inhale it i just listen to see if i can hear that crackle sound of juice vaporizing if not ill just take few draws on it with the air holes closed off and without turning it on to draw more juice into it and try again, once i hear juice crackling in it then ill take a small light puff to make sure the flavor is good then ill turn it back up to my desired voltage/wattage and im done.

another thing i do to keep them fresh is i dump out any "left overs" in the tanks before refilling it, the stuff usually left over at the end of the tank is often filled with particles of flavoring that were to thick to fit through the cotton wicking and leaving it in there will just clog up your new heads that much faster, also i try not to go over a 50/50 mix with any atti that uses any sort of "wicking" 60% VG is kind of pushing it for most clearo heads even these days.

Last but not least that I can offer, are you sure you havent mistakenly reset your gear too high?

I know with my iStick 20w that if I put it in my bag and take a hit sometimes in my purse it has slipped down many watts or gone to high and I have learned the hard way that I prefer to have one that locks in at the settings I want, such as the 50w iStick but I assume you have already checked to make sure that your numbers are..at the right spot??!!

Sounds like you got a bad pack of coils. It can happen I suppose. Maybe they were some knock offs too. One or the other. Where did you purchase them? I would take them to the store and let them know they all did the same thing while the ones that came with the tank were fine. Probably won't get tour money back but my local store once replaced a bad coil that came with my protank, it was just dead, didn't read or work.

Hey guys. So it turns out it was bad e-juice. I don't know if any of you have every experienced something like this before but i had swapped my juice for a totally different one thus solving the problem. I thought hey i might as well put my original juice back it and give it a go...and what do you know..the bad taste returned. This is the juice I ALWAYS vape but this specific batch must have been bad. Or maybe expired? I have no idea but when the guy at my local tape shop gave it to me he said it was "on the house" and grabbed it from the bottom shelf away from all the others. It sucks because now I'm afraid of buying my favourite flavour again in fear if this happening again.
