I am new to APV vaping. My history - former smoker, used cig-a-like ecigs for past 4 years, switched to ego batt. and tank several months ago, 4 days ago bought Provari mini with Aspire Nautilus tank.
I need help/advice!!! My problem is that the first at least 10 hits I take of my new Mod burn the back of my throat pretty bad. This can be in the morning or after I come home from work(don't take Provari with me during the day). The same thing happens if I start at 3.7v or 4.4 v and anything in between. I know coil is good(1.8ohm coil reading 1.8 to 1.9 on mini). Tank is anywhere from 3-4ml full. Have tried 2 different juices so far. I have also tried storing mod w/ tank upside down w/ out drip tip and right side up as well. I have started by taking a few unpowered puffs followed by normal vapes. The burning occurs w/ or w/out inhaling. Is this normal? I am used to grabbing my ecig & taking a hit & the first is equivalent to the last. One of the reasons I bought a Provari is I thought this was the case with it.... Consistent vapes. Btw - after 10-15 vapes everything seems to work fine. Before that though is really harsh. Any suggestions??? Or is this just normal & everything has to warm up? Which is understandable but I really dread those first several vapes. I have watched videos & it looks like people just grab a setup & everything works to start. One more thing to add - those first hits also don't produce much vapor either ADVICE/HELP!!!! Thanks!
Liquid used: one tank is local blend & probably 70pg/30vg & is a little harsh in my Halo triton tank setup. The other liquid is Halo TriBeCa, which does not seem harsh at all in my Halo setup. Both are 1.8mg nicotine level.

Solved my issue with harsh throat hit........my solution. This morning before I took my first vape of the day I fired my Provari up without taking a vape. I did a burn for 2-3 seconds. Next, I did another for 2-3 seconds, also w/out taking a vape. Finally, I did another 2-3 burn and took a vape while holding power down. Result - no harsh throat hit. Now, this method may be elementary to seasoned vapers but if someone is new to vaping and having similar issues hopefully this will help. I really don't know but I assume this works b/c you are heating up cold liquid and/or the coil.

What you are describing is a flooding issue. As the tank sit for a time juice collects in the atty head and requires a time to burn off the excess. try blowing into the drip tip 2-3 times to clear the excess juice. This will cause some of the juice to collect in the tank base, so some leaking from the air holes may result.
The cause is very likely either a leaky atty head or a small leak in one of the tank seals.
Good Luck

Hi - i dont know if the Provari mini has an adjustable Center pin. But one solution could be to unscrew the coil head an push the bottom of the Nautilus a bit downward eg with a screwdriver, and then screw back in the coil head. This helped mine from leaking and it produces no bad throat hits. Also i vape this on around 10Watts.

Good luck
