I am new to vaping (7/18/14).

I bought a Provari 2.5 with an Aspire Nautilus tank. I sometimes vape too frequently for the wicks to keep up. I noticed that I would get "toasty" hits that just had the faintest burnt taste. I noticed that when I take the mouthpiece off it is a straight drop to the coils. I started dropping 2-3 drops directly in there when I want big hits or want to chain vape.

Am I ruining my coils? :confused:

Ok, since reading this post about a week and a half ago, I have been doing an almost constant drip in my Nautilus. The flavor is amazing I use the large air hole & and use the 1300mAh setting on my X6. The tank can ooze if your not vaping after you drip and a bit of a burnt taste from dry hit when it is done. I drip 3-4 drips of a 50-50 Ecto juice. Im going to follow the instructions of a fellow poster and soak the coil in vodka every couple days to clean it. ... If you like big flavor give it a shot. My next adventure will be a real drip tank and an adventure in to the world of rebuilding coils.

I've only had my Nautilus for a couple of weeks. I got dry hits right away, even after letting it soak for a half hour. I've watch some YouTube videos that said that the coils on the Nautilus might be wrapped loose - thus causing the dry hits. There are a couple of videos showing how to build your own coils for the Nautilus and I'm going to give it a try after I get the parts delivered to the island. I'll try the dripping method to see how this works. Maybe that will save the last coil until my replacements arrive. Thanks for the post.

So I ordered some BVC's online. I couldn't wait any longer so I ran into a B&M in San Diego. I asked the guy behind the counter if they carried them. He said no. I was really bummed. Then he was like "I have a private stash, you can have one free!". That was my first time in the shop. I am of course obligated to return and actually buy something now. :)

So I loaded this thing (1.6ohm) into my full size tank. Took my Provari to 4.2v with some GWAR Spew (I didn't pick the name!!!). Holy crap. This is amazing. I've been hitting it hard for the last 6 hours. It is keeping up with deep lung hits no problem. The flavor has got to be > double vs the BDC coil. I am desperately awaiting my vape mail so I can load coils in my 3 other tanks. I want to see how high I can take it but am worried about killing the wicking material before the new coils arrive.

To: AnicLyke <--- Thank you for the awesome advice!

I would like to add my two cents, if you are dripping to add in an extra jolt of flavor then I would suggest you look into three things. One, trying out new 510 drip tips because they will slightly modify flavor/draw. Two, I would look up rebuild's of the nautilus coils themselves and see if you wouldnt have a go at trying to do it yourself since you seem to be loving it so much already why not make the next step? Lastly, if you arent going to go into rebuildables, I suggest you look into making your own or finding vendors who will do additional flavor shot e-liquid for you. I dont know how competent or experienced you are at vaping so these things are just two hopefully useful cents. Vape Safe and Vape Happy!

PS: The SKU for one of my favorite drip tips which is the one you would find off a Kayfun or Russian91% is 1775802 and I am highlighting this particular tip because I am a flavor junky and did a lot of research into drip tips recently. ;-;

Thanks for the suggestions!
I have a Kayfun clone in the mail waiting for me to get off work. I'll try swapping out the tips.
I am already using MBV with extra flavor shots.
I have yet to see a successful rebuild of the BVC coils and now that I have one, I doubt I will bother with the BDCs anymore.

These BVCs are better, but guess what is better. Dripping in the BVC! lol
We'll see how I do rebuilding the Kayfun clone.
