Yeah, that's why I said "I'm hoping you guys already came to this conclusion" meaning I'm supposing this post has already confirmed that they are made from cotton, I just didn't feel like scrolling through 70 pages to find that. Btw what are you talking about with ECF sniffing me out? For what?

I sincerely apologize if my suspicions are off, but generally when new members appear to be talking up/promoting a specific product it is because they are affiliated with that product in some way.

ETA: I am very sorry if I was way off base with my comment.

For anyone looking at my name and posts about the Starre tank, I just wunna say I'm NOT selling the Starre tank and I'm not affiliated with FreeMax in any way and I'm sorry if it came off that way. I just think that the Starre is going to take the cake for the sub ohm battle and remain at the top for a while. I know its not really out there yet but I hate to see people going out and buying the VCT, Arctic, or whatever other tank they might be spending their hard earned money on when I know the Starre tops them all because I know what its like to buy a product and all the accessories for it and then a week later something much better comes out. And for my name, I just simply thought it would be a clever/creative little name, that's all.

Oh come on, it's as creative as getting a tattoo with your GF name, and after she leaves you for the milkman you also realize it wasn't a very clever idea either :p :D

Ummm weren't you just telling other users not to pick on MrsMojoRisin? and now look at you picking on me....not that I'm offended in any way but that's not ok to tell someone not to do something and then in your next post you're doing that....don't be a hypocrite. I typed up a good sized comment to clear the air so everyone has an understanding and I even apologized for any misunderstanding and you reply with that? Really? ...and yo your name is caramel so why are you even trying to give me crap for my name? Btw the Starre is going to be a huge hit and stay at the top for a while so I don't see it wearing off anytime soon or else I wouldn't have put that in my name...

I saw your posts and my first thought was that you were a shill. Can't blame the others for feeling the same way. It's a pretty common thing to see on forums related to anything.

To be fair though, us M.......s can be very cynical peoples. :D

ETA: it moderated a term of endearment to describe Massachusians ...

Ceramic -> metal oxide. (or some other compound of a metal with a non metal)
Fiberglass -> silica

Not quite. :)

One more time--just in case you missed our discussion before:

There are different kinds of silica; one kind is OK for vaping--and it's been discussed on this forum for quite some time, long before Aspire introduced their fiberglass/ceramic wicking material. Amorphous silica, commonly used in wicks by all (or most) e-cig manufacturers, has been deemed safe by our resident chemists and is even approved by FDA for use in food and medicine.

Please read this post by tenshi, and this one by Boden, and this one by Kurt, our resident chemist and a person I trust completely in all matters related to chemistry.

More on the subject:

http://srs.unm.edu/industrial-hygiene/media/docs/silica.pdf

"Amorphous Silica: Multiple studies have found amorphous silica to be biologically inert when
ingested and inhaled, with the exception of extruded fiberglass and ceramic fibers (which have been
designated as carcinogens by the National Toxicology Program), which are hazardous due to their
very small size and their high length to width aspect ratio. Because of this inertness, the US Food
and Drug Administration permits the use of amorphous silica (not fiberglass or ceramic fibers!) in food
and medicine.
"

Just for the record.

I don't think Caramel was saying silica was bad (unless I missed s post), but was saying that fiberglass is silica based while ceramics are not. But, that's also not entirely true since ceramics do have some silicates in their ingredients.

Correct. Based on what I've read until now what seems to matter is the size and shape of the particles, plus it has to be an inert material that the human body cannot decompose / get rid of.

I'd like to start off by saying that I'm not new to vaping. I've been smoke free for 3 years this February. I'm just not a huge chat room fan. I didn't know where else to take since aspire is blatantly ignoring me. I've had my atlantis since they first hit the market. Paired up with my panzer mechanical mod and AW IMR 18650, it was great. But recently I've been experiencing the same problem as many others I come to find.
Now I change every single coil in every single one of my tanks (which are all aspire) every single Monday night. I'm just ocd like that. I fill all tanks with fresh liquid before reassembly. And yes, I prime the bigger atlantis and even my nautilus coils with more then enough liquid then watch to make sure the wicks are saturating completely.
I've been using the same exact 50/50 blend of milk and honey by Cosmic Fog in all of my tanks ever since my local vape shop started carrying it. I like it. And if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
Usually when I change the atlantis coil it's just as white as when I put it in. But I change it anyway because like I said, that's just me. Recently I can't even get a solid 2 days out of my atlantis before I get a mouth and drip tip full of "soot"! I buy my coils from the same vendor every time and they are always authentic. I change them out more then any normal person should. I use the same liquid and device as I always have. So why the hazardous failure aspire?
I'm not here to bash anybody or get all scientific. I'm just simply sharing my story for any other people out there that may stumble across this due to the same problem or just doing their research before buying a new product...
