► Aspire Zelos X80 Kit; How the Zelos X80 Mod is Made:
The new Zelos X80 Mod with an external 18650 battery joins the Zelos M80 Mod with an integrated battery. Both devices share the same chipset settings and are derived from the 2021 Zelos 3 Mod, which has seen various evolutions over the years. In the Kit version I personally tested, both mods are equipped with a vaporizer from the glorious Nautilus series: the Zelos M80 with the Nautilus 3SR and the Zelos X80 with the current Nautilus GT2. The Nautilus in its various versions is recognized as the most popular and respected atomizer with replaceable heads in the world. The Zelos 3 Mod in 2021 was equipped with the first Nautilus 3; today we find the Zelos X80 paired with the new Nautilus GT2. The Zelos X80 Mod, with its external 18650 battery, can be described as a compact mod, with a familiar design that, in my opinion, is timeless and irreplaceable. This is because it combines the soft lines of the comfortable grip with the attractive, yet rounded edges of the front panel. What's immediately noticeable is the great structural solidity, and the available color options are quite understated. Ultimately, the dimensions are more than acceptable, comparable to those of the Zelos M80 with its integrated 2,600mAh battery. The Zelos X80 Mod has a curb weight that's almost equivalent and slightly heavier than the Zelos M80. The Zelos X80's weight is evenly distributed, and the mod feels well-balanced in the hand and offers a pleasant feeling of robustness and ergonomics.

The fusion of zinc alloy and satin-finish aluminum creates a classic yet elegant look, without being overly overbearing. The "Zelos X80" and "Aspire" lettering are small and unobtrusive. The recess between the square front and the round back creates a comfortable area for your fingertips, which can rest in the two lateral grooves. The lateral grooves house dynamic LEDs. The LED indicators with six selectable and switchable light effects enhance control and create the right atmosphere for any occasion. The front features the Fire button at the top, which is square and slightly protruding, comfortable and large enough to be reached by your fingers. The Up/Down adjustment buttons are located at the bottom above the USB-C charging port; both the Up/Down buttons and the USB port are well-positioned for easy use. Featuring a 0.96-inch TFT display, the Zelos X80 offers a bright and crisp screen with 8 adjustable brightness levels for an optimized viewing experience.

    ► Aspire Zelos X80 Mod; On/Off Button:
The bottom of the mod features a large footprint, making this device very stable once positioned. This surface also houses the steel cap for access to the battery compartment, and three vent holes ensure safety. The power button is housed in a small, protected recess, and is marked "On" and "Off." I prefer using the power button compared to the usual "5 clicks" to turn the mod on and off. You can safely place the device in your pocket and quickly reuse it by simply flipping the lever.

► Aspire Zelos X80 Mod; Replaceable 18650 battery:
To access the battery compartment, lift the metal tab on the cap and unscrew it counterclockwise. The steel cap's threads are smooth and well-made. The polarity for correct insertion of the 18650 battery is clearly marked on the bottom of the compartment inside the mod.

    ► Aspire Zelos X80 Mod; 510 Thread:
The top of the mod features a slightly raised steel 510 cup to prevent scratches when screwing in and out tanks.
The gold-plated pin is spring-loaded, and the thread is smooth. The Zelos X80 Mod can accommodate tanks up to 25mm in diameter without any protrusion. Our 24mm Nautilus GT2 is perfect for this mod.

    ► Nautilus GT2 Tank:
The original Nautilus GT Tank was born around 2020 thanks to a collaboration between the Chinese company Aspire, which produced it, and the German company Smokestore, which designed it, drawing inspiration from its Taifun GT. Fast forward to the present day, the Zelos X80 is equipped with the highly anticipated new version, the Nautilus GT2 Tank, with a 24mm diameter and 4.5ml capacity. This vaporizer can be purchased together with the Zelos X80, or separately in four different colors: Black, Silver, Blue, and Gunmetal. The Nautilus GT2 can be easily disassembled into multiple parts thanks to the sliding threads on the base and top cap, making thorough cleaning simple.

    ► Nautilus GT2 Tank; how it's made:
Compared to the excellent original 2020 Nautilus GT, the new 2025 GT2 maintains a very similar appearance, yet feels more robust to handle. Furthermore, this new 2025 version has been improved in several ways. The first aspect that has been improved is the much higher-quality, faster, and more practical refill. This sliding system opens two large slots; simply rotate the knurled top part of the top cap, and a loud click provides quality feedback indicating the opening/closing of the slots. The other improvement over the original Nautilus GT is undoubtedly the AFC system, which goes from the 5 holes of the 2020 model to the current 7 holes (like the Nautilus 3S). As I mentioned, the updated airflow of the Nautilus GT2 is adjustable to 7 positions and uses a pleasant and high-quality mechanism complete with an audible click at each click. The holes, from the smallest to the largest, are optimally spaced. This wide range of airflow holes allows the GT2 to be adapted to various resistances and wattages. The resulting draw is precise and draft-free, ranging from a fairly free-flowing flavor draw to a sufficiently restricted draw for MTL, thus satisfying a wide range of vapers.

► Nautilus GT2 Tank: Coil Platform:
The Nautilus GT2 is compatible with all Nautilus and Triton Mini series coils, offering a wide selection and easy availability of replacement coils.

► Aspire Zelos X80 Kit; Final Conclusions:
During this review and in the product description, you've read my visual and tactile impressions, so let's move on to my user impressions. The Zelos X80. The mod features the ASP circuit, undoubtedly one of the best chipsets for reliability and performance among entry-level mods. The "switch" button greatly simplifies shutdown operations, preventing accidental coil activation. Navigating the menu is incredibly easy, and it's packed with options and adjustments. The whole thing is complemented by countless lighting and color effects, including three different animations. This whole visual element can be turned off if you want to go unnoticed. The external 18650 battery should be of good quality and will offer considerable battery life between charges, especially with the lights and animations disabled. Finally, my impressions of this Nautilus GT2 tank come directly from a comparison with the original 2020 Nautilus GT and the current Nautilus 3SR that I use daily. Getting down to business, the functional improvement over the original Nautilus GT is very evident, and as I said, it mainly concerns refilling and airflow management. Comparing the GT2 with the Nautilus 3S, however, is essentially a draw. On the Nautilus 3S side, we have an advanced anti-leak system that allows you to replace the coil even with the tank full of liquid, which unfortunately is not present on the GT2. On the GT2 side, I find the e-liquid filling operation very practical and of superior quality. The GT2's airflow adjustment also seems to be of a higher quality, in fact, it offers that precise "click" with each click that the Nautilus 3S lacks. For those wondering which between the Nautilus 3S and the Nautilus GT2 offers the best performance, I would say both. In the future, the best Nautilus will likely be the one that combines the best qualities of the 3S and GT2. I have no complaints right now; the GT2 and 3SR are and will remain among my favorite vaporizers for a long time to come. With the Zelos X80 Kit, Aspire has done a great job pairing a successful mod with a rather advanced tank like the Nautilus GT2.

    • Thank you to Aspire for sending me the Zelos X80 Kit for this review.

    • Thanks for reading.
