So I’ve noticed since I’ve switched to vaping (last cig was 8 days ago) my asthma has gotten a lot better. I also read an article where they studied smokers with asthma who switched to vaping and their asthma improved. Who else is in the boat of asthma improving and has it continued to do so?

My youngest daughter, a qualified nurse, has asthma and has had it since she was a teenager - she switched to vaping about the same time as I did ( 3+ years ago ) and she reports an improvement.

Glad to hear yours is better just now and welcome aboard.

Getting asthmatic smoker off cigarettes is a big deal to improve their symptoms. Vaping can be a viable way. Of course I'd always say nothing is even better, but not at the expense of risking returning to smoking. I would just pay attention to your juices and if you find particular mixes like a high PG or certain flavorings as irritating just stay clear.

Well said Eskie. Some report worsening athsma and it seems to be certain flavors or amount of PG.

I know when my asthma kicks in I don't want nuthin' in my lungs but air. When things settle down my vape device seems to help break up stuff where a cigarette seemed to refuel the attack.

I'm sailing with you. I'd say it took a few months to get the full benefit. There are a few things that seem to irritate my lungs (high VG and certain flavours), but they're easy enough for me to avoid.

I don't have Asthma.

But when I got Serious about getting in Better Shape, I did this...

Hi Anerol. Welcome to the ECF.

In 2015, I averaged 125 Miles per week on a Bike. And in 2016, I averaged just under 85 Miles per week.

Not bad considering before I Switched to e-Cigarettes, I would get Out of Breath walking up 2 Flights of Stairs.

I had seasonal asthma due to allergies. The joke was on me because prior to being diagnosed with asthma (I was 48 when diagnosed) I was SURE that my breathing issues that came out of nowhere was actually lung cancer finally getting me. It took 2 doctors and a slate of tests to Dx the asthma. I was on a daily inhaler and a rescue inhaler for 'attacks'. About a year into that I got off the analogs and switched to vaping. Within 6 months I was off ALL the inhalers and after that I had a pulmonary function test done. The asthma was for all intents and purposes cured. It's been 2 years and I have maybe hit a rescue inhaler ONCE... and even then I can't be sure if it was an actual asthma attack or just my body telling me that at my age and weight running to the next tee isnt a good idea in the summer.

I've had asthma all my life.... seasonal, allergy and exercise induced it wasn't until my 20ies when they finally decided a needed an inhaler...
after stopping smoking....it took sometime....but my xrays show my lungs are better now than they have ever been in my life....I mean I still need an inhaler for changing of seasons and when the pollen count is high, but other than that I'm pretty good off
and (well aside from currently this dang influenza is kicking my .... for 2 1/2 weeks) now when I do get respiratory infections I can usually fight them off within 2 or 3 days, tops a week, instead of them dragging on for about a month
