Some say soaking in alcohol, boiling the head, holding their tongue in the right place and many other theory's on how to clean a factory coil. All your doing is rinsing out some of the loose chunks and removing the juice from the wicking(smell and taste might linger or stay). There is really no way to remove the hardened residue that sits on the coil without dryburning and replacing the wicking. Burnt taste will not rinse out, its there for as long as your willing to vape that coil or replace it along with contaminating the new juice your putting in there. The sweeter the juice the faster the coil gunks up and more gunk runs the risk of burning the cotton since you have to heat up the gunk first in order to vaporize the juice and with that extra heat dissipates into the metal thus caramelizing your juice making it go dark, once the juice goes dark then every drop of juice you put in will go dark also(contaminate).
Many try to "refresh" their factory coils to save the several bucks each some of the heads are but IMO the time to rinse, clean and dry the coil and its still tastes like poo, in the end you could have made a fresh rebuild and be on your way in minutes...
