Although the news article and video at
Augusta Smoking Ban Needed For Workers Health, Supporters Say - WJBF-TV ABC 6 Augusta-Aiken News, Weather, Sports
claims the proposed Augusta-Richmond County smoking ban would included e-cigs, the proposed ordinance
(on the Augusta website) would NOT ban e-cig use, and instead specifically exempts e-cig use
Item Attachments
The proposed ordinance is on the 10/28 meeting agenda of the Public Service Committee, which didn't approve the measure
NovusAGENDA
I suspect the state and drug industry funded groups lobbying for the ordinance are urging the Augusta-Richmond County Commission to also ban e-cig use, and the news media didn't bother to do any fact checking on the proposed ordinance.
But if vapers and vendors don't contact Augusta-Richmond County Commissioners and/or don't attend the next Augusta-Richmond County Commission meeting(s) to expose this huge discrepency and to oppose banning
vaping, the Commission may amend the bill to also ban
vaping.
