Found out today that the city of Kennesaw Ga has a proposed ban on the use of E-cig in all public locations in the city limits.
All Georgia vapers get out and let Kennesaw how you feel about this. Next City Council meeting Mon October 9th @6:30 pm.
Council member Cris welsh is the founder of the ordinance please address her by e-mail @ cwelsh@kennesaw-ga.gov. She can also be reached by phone @ 678-266-0885. We are under attack again time to be heard.!

This is NOT good. I live in Kennesaw, GA. VapeRite is located RIGHT next to us, in Woodstock, GA (I am 2 miles from vaperite, and live in Kennesaw).

How would that effect Vaperite?

I heard the same thing on the radio while in Kennesaw yesterday. They want to ban Cigarette, Cigar, Pipe and E-cig use anywhere but your home. I suppose you can chew tobacco and spit all over their town but not use a non-tobacco product. I've always liked Kennesaw...I live about 30 minutes away. This just pisses me off, though. I'm not a big public vaper and it probably won't really make my life any different...if I want a vape, I vape...wherever I am. I'm just hate e-cigs being lumped in with burning tobacco.

Funny, by law, you MUST own a firearm if you own a house in Kennesaw, GA, where I live.

Weird laws here.....make everyone own a firearm, and ban ecigs. What are they trying to do?

If you see anyone in Kennesaw vaping, you can shoot em

No kidding.

I vape EVERYWHERE I go in Kennesaw (outside) , and you should see some of the dirty looks I get. Don't know why people are so ... backwards here. Of course, if you are carrying a handgun around, no one cares. Go figure.

how can they MAKE you own a handgun?

I support any law abiding, non criminal, adult's right to own one,,,,,,,but my right NOT to own one should be respected too,,,,

geesh.

They DONT make you own a firearm. It is technically the law, and was made into a law to curb violent crimes. It WORKED. The very YEAR it was put into law, violent crimes dropped by 50% in our city.

They never actually enforced the law, and are never going to. It was NOT an attempt to bully anyone into owning a firearm, it was an attempt to curb violent crimes, and it worked.

Honestly, I LOVE the law here.

I grew up in Chicago, so believe me, I appreciate a town that cares for its citizens, and encourages people to own firearms. Chicago is COMPLETELY liberal/anti-gun ownership, and as of THIS YEAR has the highest murder rate in the entire country. I can tell you - banning guns does NOT work. It works in favor of violent criminals.

I'm not saying this to you personally, I know you said you support peoples rights to own firearms, I'm just saying in general.

Yea, in Kennesaw it works to our benefit. No one actually checks to make sure you own a firearm - it is more of a statement then anything.

I'll tell you this - people think twice before breaking into houses here in Kennesaw ;)

Now I read replies in this thread that banning ecigs in Kennesaw ISNT on the table? Can anyone confirm or deny this?

I will raise HELL if they are actually considering banning ecigs here. You always here about it happening in New York, or other places....but you NEVER think they will actually ban ecigs in YOUR area. Lord have mercy on whoever is thinking about this in my area, I have a earfull for 'em.

Dang straight it works. Criminals flock to gun-free zones to steal and murder. They tend to stay away from places where they may run into citizens exercising their 2nd amendment rights.

When stupid politicians establish a gun free zone, they are announcing to the world to come on over and have your way with us. It's no wonder that this is exactly what happens.

^ This.

I live in Houston which is a big enough city, that even with the right of citizens to own firearms we still have a fairly high crime rate. Considering a lot of our citizens exercise the right to bear arms, we also have a lot of dead criminals. Which saves the tax payers money on costly trials and long term incarcerations. I have seen at least 3 or 4 stories in just the last week or two of criminals trying to burglarize, rob, or car jack the wrong person and getting shot. I love it.

If the nic is the loophole, they can't stop anyone from vaping 0mg nic. Period. That would be like banning drinking anything with flavor and breathing, because you do exhale the smell of whatever you're eating and there is vapor even if you can't see it.

"I'm sorry but you can't eat that hot dog in public because the smell of it offends me because I'm vegan and working to ban eating hot dogs in parks."

Slippery slopes.

Or it would be like banning breathing in public places in winter because that causes vapor.

And sorry (not really), but that Chris woman even looks and sounds like she has a poker up her...whatever. Frankly alot of people still think chiropractors are quacks (not me I go to one...one who minds his own damn business)

Non-sourced threads like this should be deleted. I searched the city of Kennesaw and found no such proposal. A great way to give vaping and vapers a bad name is to start e-mail campaigns against politicians in opposition to proposed legislation that doesn't exist.

Here is your source, Kennesaw proposal would ban smoking in most public places - Atlanta News, Weather, Traffic, and Sports | FOX 5, City Councilmember Dr. Cris Welsh proposed this last Monday but has since replied to some e-mails stating that it does not include E-cigarettes.
