Proposed city ordinances are in writing and available to the public. News articles and interviews aren't primary sources.

It is nice to know what one is actually discussing, rather than go off of speculation and innuendo. Kind of like the calls to action without links to the proposals. Proposed city ordinances must legally be in writing and made available to the public.

My intention was to make sure the conversation did not go forward at all. And to stand against any proposed or fleeting thought of a ban of any kind. Standing by and watching not me, I will always take the offensive. And will be at the council meeting listening and discussing if necessary. Legally in writing means it has gone to far when it comes to politics.

Just got a message back from council member Dr. Cris Welsh who said that the ordinance Kennesaw is trying to impose will not be applied to ecigarettes. It's meant to be applied to cigarettes.

That seems like good news for us.

I think this person is trying to cover there you know what, She trying to say all these cameras ended up in her face and all well here is the email you guys/gals can read it.

Thanks so much for reaching out. This is something that came out of the health committee at the chamber and was really designed to just start a conversation. Politically nobody wanted to touch it and I told them I'd be happy to go ahead and bring forward so we can at least have some conversations. I had no idea it would start to fire no pun intended!

The newspaper jumped the gun like nobody's business because this was simply just presented up as..."hey, let's have a discussion" . And the next thing I knew I had cameras in my face and reporters blowing up my phone.

The true biggest issue is smoking in public parks anywhere the children are. Many folks complain of having to walk through a parking lot full of cigarette smoke to get children to a car.

As far as the e-cigarette stuff, I don't Have a problem with those at all.

I agree with the idea of a nanny state however personal rights stop at the tip of another person's nose. I think it would be ridiculous to talk about personal decisions like the food that people eat or the drinks people ingest but when a persons cigarette fills anothers persons personal airspace we can have atleast have a conversation..

I expected this would start a conversation I just didn't know how big of one And how wonderfully passionate people are both sides of this issue. I look forward to open and meaningful dialogue! This isn't something that anyone is looking to take any action on anytime soon this is just an opening conversation.

Now , if we could just get people to have this same fervor with the budget And the decisions are affecting each of them everyday!

Well, that a good start. Nothing like covering your .............especially when you get as many emails like she has apparantly had. Good job everyone. Keep the preasure on. And be pleasant about it. You get more flies with honey as they say.....

I sent her a nice email also.... and I do mean nice, asking her to please reconsider......from a 37 year smoker that has reclaimed his life and is not hurting anyone by vaping.

Mine was nice, asking to reconsider and to please do more research on vaping, that smokers should be outlawed but not vapers. and told how many friends an d family Vaping has helped. So hope they will do more research.

Now I read replies in this thread that banning ecigs in Kennesaw ISNT on the table? Can anyone confirm or deny this?

I will raise HELL if they are actually considering banning ecigs here. You always here about it happening in New York, or other places....but you NEVER think they will actually ban ecigs in YOUR area. Lord have mercy on whoever is thinking about this in my area, I have a earfull for 'em.

This is why I now believe in contacting government officials regardless whether they are in your area or not. Worst that can happen is, after they read your message, they dismiss it because you're not one of their constituents. Notice the wording...AFTER they read your message.
