So ive been vaping quite happily on an orchid v2 for a while and decided to see what all the hype was about. Broke down and bought an atlantis. In order to make it as equal as possible i built a .5 ohm dual coil setup using 26 gage kanthal. The atlantis is reading .6 ohms on my ipv2 and orchid reading .5 ohms. Ok heres my take. The atlantis full open has a much more airy draw than the orchid. Flavor is similar intensity but different nuances are noticed between the orchid and atlantis. The atlantis seems to impart a slightly noticeable metallic taste to the vape, whereas the orchid does not. Now cloud production... they both put out massive clouds with a slight edge going to the orchid. Both were being vaped at 33 watts. There were no issues with either doing chain vaping.
The orchid is more difficult to fill, but has a larger capacity.
The advantage for the orchid would be a slight edge in vapor production and flavor and capacity, with a large edge with cost, both initial and recurrent.
the advantage to the Atlantis in ease of use, convenience, and ease of refilling.
So which one would i go with? Orchid... but... would keep the atlantis handy as it is the first tank available that comes close to the output of a rba, and its much more convenient.
