Atlantis won't fire on Kbox

I've been using my Atlantis on a Kamry K101, and just got hold of a Kbox because I wanted to boost power. Unfortunately, the Atlantis won't fire on the Kbox. Charge indicator shows battery full charge, but it won't fire on any wattage selection.

The Atlantis I'm using fires fine on other batteries I've tried, and the Kbox fires an iClear 30S with no problem - it just seems the Atlantis/Kbox combo doesn't want to work together. The contacts on tank/battery are clean, no gunk or liquid in them.

I've tried Googling the issue, but all I'm mainly finding is people recommending the two together as a good combo.

Does anyone have any idea what could be causing the problem?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Ok cheers for the quick response, I'll check it out.

As Baditude said, sounds like the center pin of the battery is not making a connection with the atomizer of the clearomizer/tank. This usually occurs from over-tightening the tank onto the battery connector. Just make sure that if you use something conductive (metal) to pry up on the center pin that you do NOT hit the fire button while you are working on the battery. Or better yet, turn off the battery.

Here's a link to the video Baditude was talking about: Center Pin Issue - Fixing a non firing eGo battery

Ok, I tried the centre pin fix - the centre pin on the Kbox actually has a lot of travel, I was able to raise it a good 5mm or so. However, after screwing the Atlantis back on (trying not to over-tighten), it still wouldn't fire, and after removing it again, the centre pin on the Kbox was back into the very depressed position again.

The centre pin on the Atlantis also moved a little, but perhaps less than 1mm, and that too was back in its original position after the re-attempt to connect the two.

The centre pin on the Atlantis is slightly depressed shy of the rim of the edge - I'm wondering if the connector on my K101 has pushed this in, and this is in fact more of the issue than the pin on the Kbox?

Could be something wonky with how the pins are (or aren't) lining up. I've seen issues before where is you back the tank of about 1/5 to 1/3 of a turn, the kit fires. This isn't optimal, but it'll tell you if it's a center pin issue. The setup is literally over tightened. If that's the case, you can adjust the pin manually in the battery or tank. Otherwise, get a 0.2mm nylon washer to use as a spacer.

I did try it at various stages of the tightening down process to see if this would make any difference, but no joy. Just tried my Tobh atty on the battery (which has a centre pin proud of the rim of the connector), and this fired perfectly. Seems it's just these two that don't want to work together!

I'm wondering at this point if I could solder something on to the centre pin of the Atlantis to make it stand "proud" of the rim of the connector? But a bit drastic admittedly.

Might seem silly, but make sure the coil is fully tightened in the base of the Atlantis.

I received a complimentary "bad" Atlantis that's only problem was the coil was tightened into the stem first instead of the base as it should be.

Genius! The coil had maybe another 1/4 turn it could be tightened down, and now it's firing. It was firing ok on my K101 before doing this, so it threw me off, but the centre pin must be "firmer" on the K101. It seems the centre pin on either the battery or the tank must be rigid for the connection to work - because the coil in the Atlantis wasn't fully tightened, there was travel in both pins.

Thanks for all the help guys.

Glad you got it working. :)
