Hey guys, vaping for about 3 days.

Got a few questions.

First, how do I know an atty is bad? For example, I was using one atty pretty hard all day yesterday. It is 2.0 ohms and I use it at 3.7 volts. I was dripping everything from menthol to cherry and on my final cherry drips, it started to taste real harsh and hurt to hit. I stopped and put it to the side. Is this atomizer toast? I decided to boil it for a few minutes on low temp and soak it in vodka (it's still soaking right now). I haven't been able to try it again, but I might tomorrow.

Second question, coffee flavors in an atty. They taste so good on the first 2 or 3 drags and then it becomes burnt tasting. I even add a few more drops and it kind of helps. This happened with two different coffee flavors. Is this just a coffee flavor issue? Should I be okay putting it into a clearo?

Thanks guys!

There are only two reasons for getting a "dry hit"; not wicking, or to high a voltage. In your case there was not enough juice in the atty to wick to the coil.
Do you have a drip shield? It will make a huge difference.

Now let's work on the cleaning.
I give my atties an alcohol bath about once a week or so, an hour is long enough. Then blow it out, prime, and go back to vaping. For daily maint. I just flood the atty with whatever juice I happen to be using, and then blow it out into a tissue. I may do that twice during a day. I've been using the same two atties for at least 4 months, if not 6.

Seems like the only flavors I have gunking problems with are milkshake, coffee with a creamer, or heavy chocolate type flavors. I vape the regular coffee, espresso type flavors a lot with no problem.
