Some new attys come with a crappy primer on them, you can either dry burn it off or you can stick the aty in alcohol 100 proff vodka and soak them for about 15 min or you can boil some water and let the atty soak in that. If you do this it will take some time for the atty to dry some people put them in the oven at 150 degrees for about an hour. drop a few drops on the bridge and u r ready to go.

Also make sure you did not trim your PTB too short. If it isn't slightly touching the wick in the atomizer it won't wick the fluid down and thereby give you the nasty burn taste. There are a few 510's that the bridge is a bit shorter on and this could be the problem.

If dripping gets the job done, and carts don't, it seems like it would be a cart problem, not getting the juice to the attie.

Either way, I noticed the same bad taste from my new atomizers, which wasn't present in the kit I bought. I soaked them in an alcohol/vinegar solution, rinsed them out and dried them in the oven at 190F for 20 minutes, and they "work like new".
