I am wondering how the resistance of atomizers changes over their lifespan?

Do the Ohms go up or down as it gets older?
How does residual juice affect the readings?

I just tested a new unused atty (510) and the reading was 3.3Ohm.
Another atty from the same batch, used for 3 weeks was at 2.4Ohm
Another used one, same at 2.3 Ohm

The first used one, was used exclusively in my 5v PV. Worked fine till recently, it started melting cartridges, seems to be needing more juice when vaping (less drags per drop), the vapor seems hotter and don't vape it dry, the sudden nasty taste got really bad.

No two atomizers are exactly the same, that's why two atomizers from the same batch will give to different readings. Any individual atomizer will have the same resistance from day one all the way up until the end of its lifespan. The nichrome coil will not physically or chemically change in any way, atomizer performance drops for a couple of reasons:
1) the wicking material can burn slightly and no longer carry liquid to the coil effectively
2) some liquid does not vaporize completely, especially the sweeter ones. This can leave behind a residue that coats the coil, making it so that there is more material to heat up before it can even begin heat the liquid. Thus the massive drop in performance, and the awful taste

Yeah, I would think that the constant heating and cooling would stretch and physically change the coil constantly. That alone would change the resistance. I would also think that would cause the resistance to go down more often than not.

That would also explain why the older attys I have, which I clean often, run hotter than brand new ones.
