Atomizer clearance on the Protege

I just got my Protege in today... and am patiently watching the batteries charge (it's killing me). One thing I noticed (more of an inquiry, not a complaint) is that the 510 atomizers do not screw in flush with the adapter. There is a 1.5 - 2 mm gap. I'm assuming this was designed this way to ensure compatibility with different brands of 510 atomizers. Does anyone else out there with a Protege have the same thing?

Mine is the same and yes you are correct about it being intentional so it may work with the different brands. I have not had any problems with mine and there is about a 2mm gap. It still draws just fine.

I as well have a gap.....But never really had any complaints as far as the draw goes....

Everyone needs to read and pay attention to the instructions in the thread smokumchevy posted.

Absolutely do not attempt to screw the atomizer on tight enough to become flush with the adapter. You will short out the atomizer. Just screw it on until it snugs up, do not overtighten.
