I have got 2 penstyle with RN4072 atomizers, one is 5 days old and the other brand new.

What i dont understand is how these atomizers get so weak so quick as the 5 day old already seems blocked compared to the new one.

when cleaned and dryed the old one is 90% as good as new and was wondering which part of the atomizer is getting clogged, is it the wire wool inside or the little air hole by the battery connecter?

The old atomizer just doesn't let as much air through as the new one!

Can the air hole be made bigger?

I have 2 of the same atomisers that are 10 days old.

What I did with mine to clean them is fill the atomiser with water (which it will hold) and then blow the water through it so it jets out of the bottom hole. Repeat this several times and it seems perfect. I dont have a new one to compare against, but I think mine still perform as good as new.

Hi Ted

I believe a couple of our power-tool rangers tried drilling extra holes in a penstyle atomiser but it wrecked it. The only expansion-of-airflow trick that seems to work is enlarging the hole in cartridge mouthpieces with an awl. I've had some success with this using pen and mini carts. It's a bit hit and miss, though, because if you enlarge the holes too much the vacuum switch performance suffers.

I am now have a shiny silver atomizer as all the paint came off :D

As i removed the colar i can now access the 2 different size holes on the atomizer and reduce/increase the airflow which has been interesting.

Airflow certainly plays a major part in these devices as i can control the hit depending which hole i cover if any!

Anyway its back to 100% for now so will see how it goes.

Emp is right, Im one of those power-tool rangers:D I have been experimenting with some of the atomizers that i have and have found that usually a good cleaning restores atomizer performance to like new or at least close to it most of the time. I have also removed the collar on one of the atomizers that wasn't performing up to my standards and it is now one of my best performers. One of the other factors that affects draw is the battery.. It seems that the switch on some of them is more sensitive than others. One of the things I have seen contribute to that is the little holes that are at the LED end of the battery. When the cap is glued in place sometimes the holes will get blocked and this will cause you to have to drag harder to activate the battery.
