I ordered the 901 switch since it was all that was in stock at the time, and my atomizers have this permanent garbage metal taste to them. I have to coat them pretty well in fluid, and then the card with the juice and then after about 3 drags it takes like I'm inhaling burning metal. I don't understand this. One of my 3 atomizers from puresmoker completely died within 1 week, and the other 2 have this garbage taste that I can't seem to get rid of AT ALL! I smoke menthol juice, and the tin taste was never a problem before... I don't understand! It makes me gag every time I take a drag if it's not refilled after every 3 drags.

Anyone have any help? I love my prodigy, I just don't understand!

I did get that on a couple of attys. A very metallic taste, thought I was going nuts. And a few of them popped after about a week or two. Going to try some from a couple other places to make sure it wasn't just my nooberness.

I assumed it was the primer on the atty, and it may have been, some of them seem to have mellowed out after a while.

That's the reason i got off of the 901's and started with the cartos.

The other thing is, you can't hold the button down for 10 seconds anymore. The voltage is a lot higher and it'll cook the attys. Once you cook one off it's like a burned car. You never get the smell / taste out of it.

You can try washing it out with PGA (pure grain alcohol / everclear) but burnt is burnt.

I'm on a 5 - 7 second draw on the atomz with a constant high velocity draw.
The little small puffs or lite draws won't do it. Not enough air across the heating element.

There's a small learning curve with the higher voltage PV's. Just from my personal experiences.

I couldn't stand the taste of the primers they use on the attys. Just one more reason I went with carts. Makes life so much simpler.
I would always wash mine out with PGA when they were new, flush them with boiling hot water and let them dry.

It's like they're using skunk urine or something as a primer.

Even with the carts, on high volatge I have to drip 10 or so drops into them every so often to keep them from burning. Love the HV though

Are carts a lot more expensive? I haven't really heard much about them, but I just got like 500mL of flavorless juice, so pre-flavored carts seem like a bad idea if I can't just use the juice I have.

edit: can my 901 adapter work with atomz? I might buy like 10 flavorless and a pack of menthol ice in a few days if they do.

If your 901 adapter has a hole drilled in the top it'll work with the Atomz.
Steve had and is getting more blanks. If you have your own juice that you like to use, that's the way to go.

Carts aren't more expensive if you learn not to burn them up on the HV devices and they're refillable. I have 3 carts that have been in a constant cycle for the past 6 or 7 weeks. At a little over a dollar each that's less than half the cost of one 510 or 801.

My GF has been using the same 6 for about three months. I fill them and recharge her Protege batts every Friday evening. She has no problems at all (or I'd know about it LOL).

For me, they've become the highest performing with the least amount of fiddlin or maintenance and lowest cost attys I've used. I've never had one fail (so far).
I have had 2 or 3 DOA's out of an order of 60 pieces but at the price, it's not a big deal and some failure is expected (they're light bulbs).
And, I've thrown a few away that tasted bad because I cross juiced (watermelon / vanilla or something).

It's all about experimenting and finding what works best for you.
There's a learning curve with anything new but sometimes, that's half the fun of it.
