After loads of reading and talking to loads of members, You will have seen a few of my rants I decided to try something out.
As I work in a lab I ran a few basic tests last night prior to the clean.
AND NO I DON'T WORK WITH RATS OR MONKEYS.
First of all we made up a mock atomizer and everything when't well. Then we got a piece of ceramic and wire wool and covered it in juice and heated it up to 150 c for 2 hours it was a bit of a mess then tried different ways to clean it some chemicals they were great but harmful.
so after seeing the results we had a idea what we were dealing with.
I also needed to find a way of cleaning it that was not going to cost a lot.
So I tried the following on a atomizer that was well crap to say the least.
This is so easy and the results are amazing and cheap.
first we got a plastic cup filled it with boiling water (nothing else) put this in the microwave until it bubbled away this was 90 c Carefully take it out and pop the atomizer in for about half hour give it the odd stir. We put an oven on at 100 c.
After half hour The atomizer was taken out of the water and was blown out as much as possible from the battery end. We noticed loads of black bits and a brown tint in the used water.
We then put a piece of blotting paper in the oven and stood the atomizer battery side up in the oven for 5/6 mins.
When I got it out it was red hot and I thought oh well the wires will have melted but my sparky said it would need more heat to melt the wires.
So after it had cooled down it was primed and left for a bit.
Then the big test with a full charged battery and a new cart, It took a few puffs to get it going (thought I had killed it) then I got a real bad taste for about 3 puffs.
Then it was ready for a proper go The taste was super and the vapour was amazing better than new.
I tried it on 3 more with the same results.:thumb:
I do hope this was not too long and You understood it.
One other thing I noticed after the clean I have had to keep adding liquid to the cart more than normal(strange one that)

P.S. If you try this and anything goes wrong dont blame me. But try it and you will be amazed8-o

nice one ice! but what are the reasons for first boiling the water and then microwaving it? if it was boiled then it was at 100c no? and then micro-waving it reduced the temp to 90c? is this the optimum temp to start the soaking/baking ?

also do you think the oven is integral or can i just simmer it in a pan?
have you tried the white vinegar at all?

when it was boiled the temp once in the cup was about 85 c due to heat loss from the cup.
We popped it in the microwave to heat the cup as well.
I only used water as everyone can get this and its free.
as some times the basic ideas are the best.
I thought about white vinegar but as we cant see in the atomizer I would be unable to see what was happening when heated.
