Hello all, but mostly the 510 users out there,

I've had my 510 for a week now and I love it. Now after doing a ton of research I've been looking for some advise from 510 users: What cart mods work the best? Other than pass throughs, and dripping have you found or can you think of anything else that will improve the 510's vaping pleasure? Thanks and any info or other threads would be greatly appreciated.

This works really good:
http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/tips-tricks/11421-cart-mod-better-refilling.html

You could try the flat tip carts. I like these the best:

Joye 510 FLAT Tip Blank Carts (Whistle Tip) - dietSMOKES.com

I think you get a better seal for vaping and more flavor, less huffing, saves on battery, it's substantial enough to hold in your teeth, but that's mho....

PCC's are almost a necessity if you're going out:
Joye 510 Personal Charging Case - PCC - $25.00 : InnoVapor, The Finest in Personal Vaporizers

Are the whistle tips on dietSMOKES.com for a five pack?? I didn't see that listed anywhere.

you can look into the teabag mod.

take an unbleached teabag or coffee filter. Cut it to size, and use that in replacement of the polyfill that comes in the carts. it takes away the "burnt plastic" taste incase the atomizer reaches too high of temps. and i suppose it wicks better. There is a video done on it. sorry i dont have a link for ya

or the straw mod.

can't find link. search for it. But basically you take a tiny straw, (one you'd get in a mixed drink hanging out of a rocks glass). cut it to size and stick it in the corner wedged between the cart and the stuffing. Helps air escape as liquid flows down, allowing better absorption and maybe wicking?

cigarette filter mod.

again, there is a video on here for it. a simple search or just browse the mod section and you'll find it.

take an analog, or an empty tube. cut the filter in half. remove paper around the loose half of the filter you just cut off. take cart. remove old poly fill, clean.. drop in about 7 drops of liquid, stuff in unwrapped filter material, make sure not too tightly. and top off with liquid.

vape away

I think a syringe is the only way to go, if you are refilling carts. I have never seen the flat tip carts though, thanks for that link Kent. I will have to order some of those.

Welcome. The syringe is an alternative to the straw mod but the mod increases topping off and some say wicking. Because the syringe is usually used a bottom filler, it can defeat the idea of the straw mod which depends on an airspace at the bottom. I've tried both ways and they both work - but on the go, I'd rather not carry along the syringe or needle tip bottle when the straw mod works just as well. At home, if I have a cart that I haven't already modded, I'll use the needle tip bottle, but I'm slowly modding all my carts.

And there's no reason why you couldn't use the straw mod with any filler, fiber, tea bags, fluval, etc.

Hi Lowend, Welcome to ECF. After you use a cart for a while it is a good idea to take a paperclip and pop out the end plug on it and dry up the juice in there with a paper towel. Juice condensates and collects in the little chamber and when it gets full you start to get juice in the mouth.

Thanks Vince, I've been doing this form the start in my experimenting and found it to help.

Get away from the syringe!! IMHO

Gives FDA more to haggle us about. What if a kids injects them self with nicotine and dies:( Accidents happen all the time!

My 2 cents, hope it makes sense..

Does the spring mod work in 510 carts, round or whistle (flat)?

Not sure what the spring mod is. If you mean straw mod, yes. The flat tips from dietsmokes are the same cartridge design as the round carts. The flattips from eastmall are a bit different - see a recent thread on flat tips which gets into the difference, excruciatingly ;-) But in some cases the differences are important.

I was wondering when my new madmen sig pic would show.... looks like it's back to photoshop to get rid of that line above.
