I don't think BE is actually incompetent because they get their juice from China so they aren't directly responsible for how it gets made.

Don't count on that.

None of the large Chinese e-juice company will produce e-juice at this level. Dekang will laugh at you, the liability is not worth them loosing business over. You will also notice that none of the Chinese sites even offer this strength retail or wholesale.

High strength stuff in most cases comes from imported nicotine from one of the few companies in China that will do that, and mixed in house, often referred to as bathtub brew, covered up by "Made in USA".

As you will notice they are not passing the blame back at a supplier.. It was Dekang's fault not ours.. Well when you mix it yourself there is only one person to blame.

Trust me, the situation get more scary the more you look into it.

Yeah, that is a good point. They mix their stuff down. And now that I think about they have claimed all along that they get pure nicotine, 1000mg/ml, and mix it down from there. So the only possible answer to that is that they aren't diluting it properly, and given that the titration results were all over the board, from way too low to way too high, that speaks to abysmal mixing practises and non-existent QC. The only was that this can't be true is if they don't get pure nic, and instead get dilutes of 250-500mg/ml that end up not being what they say they are in either direction.

But even that is irrelevant because they should be testing every batch they get in for purity like they say they do -- but if they did this wouldn't be happening.

...One would presume that a "chemical company" would have trained chemist on staff, and a set of protocols that preclude what happened from happening.

The very essence of the argument, Switched.

But, IMHO, I think that BE is a "chemical company" in name only. Let's consider:
* They sell only PG, VG and dilute nicotine - no other chemicals - and the word "nicotine" does not appear anywhere on their website
* They sell "concentrated flavorings" that are said to be "Great for candies, frostings, fudges and chocolates" - absolutely no mention of e-liquids, vaping or e-cigarettes
* They have named their primary product "Levonic" without seeming to have researched where else this name is being used and what for, thus failing to consider any negative associations the name may have on the Internet.
* They seem to be associated with (or part of) an e-liquid & hardware supplier.
* Their range of safety gear and lab equipment is extremely limited for a "chemical supply" company.

Which begs the question, if they are trying to "fly under the radar", what does it say about their QC/QA systems?

I would expect BE's reputation to take a severe beating by this whole incident - they may well even quietly disappear and allow "A.N.Other" to take up the slack.

Think about it for a second.. BE believes they're ordering 99% nic juice from China. Okay, so their Chinese supplier screws up and only sends 500mg nic. Box Elder assumes its 99% nicotine and cuts it down to 100mg/48mg/36/mg etc. But if thats the case then the final product would be half that value. There's no way they can blame the Chinese because Box Elder believes they're ordering pure 99% nicotine.

The only way a 270mg strength nic juice was shipped from Box Elder is that they F U C K ED up on their own. Somewhere in their process someone screwed up royally and Brad is not owning up to it.

I suspect a lot of people at Box Elder became very very lazy about their quality control if all of this is true.

Can't argue with that :)
