Atty not working that good

Hey all! Still kinda new, 2 months 3 weeks and 4 days analog free! I have a 3 piece 510 setup. vaping Cinnabomb from vaperbomb.com. Love it! Great stuff. Really the only juice I can do regularly other than their Fire and Ice. Resently one of my atty's started to become very hard to pull on. I clean it once a week or more often with the alcohol method. I've tried cleaning it multiple times in a row and even tried the dry burn method to clean it too. Still, it's very hard to pull on. Not sure what the problem is. Any ideas on how to fix?

Also, I think Cinnabomb is some pretty potent stuff. I fell asleep with my PV in bed with me one night. It laid on it's side and leaked some juice. The juice actually ate the paint off of my atty. Is is possible that it's just the potentcy and oil in Cinnabomb that caused my atty to become clogged?

Well i'm no expert but it sounds tome like that is exactly what happened. As you vape, i think deposits and gunk collect on your atty which is why cleaning is so important. Try the method in this thread: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/e-cigarette-maintenance/102443-atty-cleaning-dummies.html. I find when my attys start getting more difficult to draw on it helps to clean them this way. I usually do both cleanings and make sure your water is very hot. From what I hear you probably won't be able to get the flavor of cinnamon out... but if that's what you vape then you don't need to worry about it. Good luck!

P.S. Congrats on making it so far!!

If you've tried cleaning it and it's still giving a stiff draw, you can always try de-bridging. Once you do this, you will only be able to use the atty for dripping. It might work, it might not. Chances are the atomizer is probably getting ready to die anyway. Atomizers aren't meant to last forever, which is why they're consider "consumable goods." Getting a couple of months out of an atomizer isn't unusual, but it is "high mileage" because they average between 2 weeks and a month depending on how you use them.

Is it hard to draw on like you can't suck air through it well either? Or hard to draw on like you're not getting enough vapor production? It may be harder to tell if you have auto batteries because you need to test it attached to the battery so the battery end if blocked off like normal.

If it's hard to even get a mouthful of air through it then check the airholes (wherever they are on a 510 atty). They are usually somewhere between the battery and the atty, sometimes little holes in the atty cylinder and sometimes notches somewhere in the battery to atty connectors. Clean the air holes or notches to make sure they are clear.

curlygirl, thanks! I will try that method tonight, but I did try a similar way already.

dormouse, yes hard to pull period. Not getting much air through it. I'll try to clean it a little better maybe using a pin to try and clear the air holes.

womanofheart, thanks! You answered my next question. Which is how long does a Joye 510 atty last?

How long an atty lasts also depends on what you're vaping. The cinnamon juices are generally flavored with cinnamon oil. Oils are very hard on atomizers. The thinner and clearer the liquid is, the easier it will be on your atomizer.

In your opinion, do you think that VG ruins attys faster than PG even if attys are kept clean on a regular basis ( every other day--maybe 3 days) ?

Thanks

I don't know about VG but it is thicker so it makes sense any dried or burnt residue from it might be thicker?

How long do you clean in alcohol? I alternate attys between 2 so I clean overnight or longer after making sure the atty is actually full of alcohol and not air. Then the next day when I take it out of the jar I first swish it around and then scoop some of the alcohol through it to hopefully rinse out anything that dissolved inside the atty. Then I shake it out hard into the sink and set on paper towels (or once I needed one right away so I blew through it until it dried well). And I always prime a fresh atty with some juice on and under the bridge.

Are you doing a long cleaning or a 15 minute kind? if the short kind maybe a longer alcohol cleaning would help?

And somebody on the forum actually uses Polident. I would try that as a last resort - overnight in the plainest kind of Polident you can find (denture cleaner).

I'm doing almost the exact same thing as you're doing. Overnight soak, blowing out when finished, putting it down on paper towel, letting dry for 24 hrs afterward. I use 91 alcohol. No, I don't use any polident. I,m not having problems with the attys but I'm just trying to find out the normal lifespan of them. Also, the attys aren;t LV types. The place( Cignot) I got the kit from won't sell them and she's pretty much against them. I'm glad someone else here believes in the overnight soak. I actually read that doing that will hurt the battery.
