Yeah, it all depends. Sometimes I try out a new flavor that's so awful I don't want to bother cleaning it out, and it goes in the trash the first time it's used (I usually try to use cheap cartos instead, but once in a while I slip up and drip it). Most of the time they last me a good long time, and when it doesn't seem to work as well as it used to, I toss it out.

306 attys: I rinse them in hot water before bed about 3x wk, blow out the water and that's it. I don't clean 510s until they get gunky and performance diminishes. I wait until I have a bunch because cleaning is a process; get out the sonic cleaner, mix vinegar and hot water, yada, yada, stand them up to dry... ugh. Tired of it.

I'll probably jump back on the 510 bandwagon someday. I'm loving the low-maintenance of LR 306s right now. The only rule is keep them wet with juice. Rinse, blow and dry connector to change juice/clean in about a minute.

I blow out any accumulating gunk twice per day and clean as needed (every other day, or longer). Hot water rinse and blow out. Sometimes ISO rinse.

I swap it out for a new one at the start of the month. Throw the old one in the used atty bin. This is due to 5 volt vaping... it's harder on the coil. Plus... I like "new atty" day.

I clean my atomizers when I notice any dropoff in performance.
And sometimes when I want to get a nasty flavor out.

I replace them only when they die.
:)
Only when they die? Most of my carto's that have filler material in them get burned after awhile, and then don't wick very well after that, so I throw them. Cleaning a burnt carto's will not make it work like it should again, only cleaner.

I clean my atomizers as needed when the performance starts to diminish which tends to be abt once every two weeks but varies with the atty. I don't change atomizers between different flavors unless its to vape coffee flavors. I do have one atty that I use only for coffee flavors so that one is only used when I want to vape coffee which isn't too often so it gets cleaned when I'm done using that day unless I think there is a really good chance I'm gonna use it again in the next few days and then I'll wait until after I use it a second time to clean it.
