Hoping the experts can help me out.

I'm currently using an eGo. I have recently started dripping, and really prefer it.

I'm also waiting for a bottom feed device, the Ali'i, which I've already ordered. I'll be using a PROTECTED 18650 for 3.7v with the Ali'i.

So... am I better off with a LR 510 atty or the 306? Any reason to stick with the standard 510???

I really appreciate any input. Again, I plan to not use carts, so which atty would work best? (primarily for the Ali'i, but with my eGo for the short term?)

Thanks!

You may want to ask Kaji (Ryan) about this. I believe that either the 510 or 306 will work just fine on the Ali'i; certainly the threading is the same.

Prior to trying out an LR atomizer (510 or 306), wait to see how you like the regular 510 (or 306) atty on the 18650's true 3.7V. With your eGO, you're used to 3.4V. And keep in mind that "3.7V" or "3.4V" is a battery's "nominal" voltage, kind of an average or midpoint of a range. That very-high-mAh 18650 battery will stay at the higher end of its 3.2-4.2V range far longer than the eGO stays at the top of its range.

Later on, if you do decide to try LR attys, consider a resistance level higher than the typical 1.5 ohms. They might be fine on the 3.4V eGO (7.7 watts), but too intense on the Ali'i (9.1 watts, starting out at 11.8 watts) ... and the current may be dangerously high (2.5 amps, starting out at 2.8 amps). [A regular 510 atty on the eGO generates only 1.5 amps of current.]

For example, a 2.0 ohm LR atomizer on the Ali'i might be neat: 6.8 watts (starting out at 8.8) and only 1.85 amps (starting out at 2.1).

BTW, commendations on emphasizing your use of "PROTECTED" batteries. It's important and there is no good reason not to.
