If you did what PhreakySTS9 suggested and you're still having problems it might be the device setting, wrong volts. A 2.0 ohm atty should work fine at 3.7 - 4.2 volts. 5 volts might be giving you the burnt taste. Having one bad atty is a possibility but three atties, to different brands is possible but unlikely.
The bad taste could be part of the break in process, some type of oil they used during manufacturing could have left some residue. As you continue to use it, it might get better. A hard draw on a 1.5 ohm atty is unusual, it should have a nice soft pull.
Take a magnifying glass and look at the filaments on the ones with a bad taste. If they're cooked, you'll be able to tell; if they're in good shape, it might require some breaking in. If you have an ohm meter, test the coils. It's a bummer when things don't work right, been there done that several times.
In the future, bone up on what and where others are buying their atties. If there's junk atties out there, you'll learn about them on this forum.
